I have the knitting blahs

I have the knitting blahs :(
Here is my current knitting progress on all projects.

DH's Jo Sharp Hat.

The band folds under at the purl row, then I have to do 10 rows of reverse stockinete before I start the shaping. Unbelievably, my gauge was correct, I was knitting along blissfully, was up to the point I'm at now, then I tried it against his head only to find that his head is too big. So I frogged it, and am only now back to here with looser gauge.
Emily, in her 11 year old wisdom, has decided that she absolutely will die if I don't knit her these.

I have the yarn, substitutions from the stash, but I really don't feel like starting them. She gave me that imploring look that only an 11 year old girl can truly master, so I guess I really should start them. I guess. ;)

I can't believe that with the number of needles I own, I don't have the right needles for the two projects that I do want to start - one maybe, but both of them?? Anyway, the Addi 3.5mm is on the way for DH's sweater, but I've had no luck sourcing 12mm needles for Em's cardigan. Of course, it's not as if I don't have plenty of projects waiting in the wings for me. I just have the blahs. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Oh, it happens. Just give in to it and pout a bit! :)It will pass. It always does! Of course, mine is usually in the summer, but that is not your season now.
should I be glad that my family does not want my knitting? :)

I was in the local KMart yesterday and they had 12mm needles - though my local is Lakehaven on the central coast. Spotlight had some large ones too - not sure if they had 12mm or not though. I had trouble finding a set of 3mm dpns - got a set this morning and so can now finish Baby Norgi. Finally!
