Foul weather today. It's raining.
Foul weather today. It's raining. Now, considering that we're in a drought, and Sydney apparently has only a year's worth of water in the dams, normally I'd be over the moon to see rain.
Today I booked in to hire the carpet shampooing machine from the supermarket. I have to do it this weekend - next weekend Em's dancing, and the weekend after that I'm having a surprise mystery guest. So we shampooed the carpet anyway, and had the heater out and the fans to try to dry it out.
Sky shot!
Clouds, clouds, clouds. My laundry pile is growing too - it's been raining all week. Except over the dams, where we want it to rain!
Driveway shot. Who'd believe that it was 38C here last week??
However, after shampooing the carpet and doing a grocery shop, I knitted. I now have a finished Fluted Bannister sock.
I cast on Butterfly and ripped it out *again*. I just can't get the gauge right. It's a tad small on 4.5mm, a tad large on 5mm. I think the knitting Gods are punishing me. After all, I said that I would finish DH's sweater and Em's stripey sweater before Butterfly. So that's what I'll do. I have now put the Noro away until the lime and pink sweater is done.
At least I'll try! ;)

Beautiful sock!
I like a rainy day once in awhile, but not for a whole week. Hope the sun shines for you soon!

Posted by: Steph at October 25, 2004 11:34 PMLove that sock! We have had lots of rain, too but now snow is headed our way. At least you're heading into summer.
Posted by: margene at October 26, 2004 03:15 AMLove that grey sky shot, and ohboy, the driveway shot -- are we all going to be putting in DRIVEWAY shots now? And I have to tell ya, I'm intensely disappointed (in a fun, English-language-loving kind of way) that Aussies call it a driveway like we do. I was hoping you'd call it something funky and esoteric like a "car drive" or something.....(I used to live in London -- you knew that, right?) ;-)

Have you tried a different kind of needle? Wood vs. metal? Or even plastic. I know that can effect gauge. Love the sock--the colors are nice and bright--especially on a rainy day.
