Here, in all it's glory,
Here, in all it's glory, is Em's stripey sweater!
I made myself sit down and seam it this morning, and I didn't move until it was done. It has been received with great enthusiasm, I am pleased to say :)
Knit Happens have just got in some Lorna's Laces in their own very special colourway, which would match this sweater beautifully! I emailed Kristine and asked her how much postage would be for 2 hanks, but I think I better email her back and ask for three - so both Em and I can have socks in it :)
Still working on the Floser Basket shawl, and I cast on some more socks, this time for DH. The yarn came from a local eBay seller, and is a DK weight - and I have to say, it's alot quicker than normal sock yarn! I've already turned the heel on the first one.
Must go, the final episode of Sex And The City is about to start - yes, it's only just playing here in AU.

The sweater loks great and it looks like you have several more wonderful projects planned.
Posted by: Wendy G at November 15, 2004 11:58 PMI am so tickled to see how beautifully you put that simple yarn to work. The sweater is darling; I bet Em is pleased. It sounds like some LL in Knit Happens' colors is just the ticket. I hated seeing Sex in the City come to an end. We are in reruns here.
Posted by: Bliss at November 16, 2004 12:21 AMI love the edging of Em's sweater! Did it take you a long time? I don't have HBO so I still haven't seen the last 12(?) episodes of Sex & The City. The video is coming out in December here and I can't wait! BTW, I love the fluted banister socks! Can you tell me if this pattern is available?

Posted by: Denise at November 16, 2004 04:57 AMFantastic sweater--the ruffles with the stripes really make it pop. Hope the weather cooperates and doesn't get too warm too soon!
Posted by: Annie at November 16, 2004 05:22 AMEm's jumper looks fab!! She looks great - so happy and the colors look well on her! :)
Posted by: Holly at November 16, 2004 02:36 PMBoth the jumper/sweater and Em are absolutely gorgeous! The colorway is a real eye-catcher.

Em's jumper is absolutely gorgeous!! I must go and look what pattern you used, it loks like one from the Creative Knitting annual that my 3.5yo DD has earmarked!!
Posted by: Alison at November 15, 2004 10:49 PMAnd I'm still feeling a bit down after watching Sex and the City, I was blubbering by the end of it, and I knew we'd have to find out Big's real name, lol!! I love her comment when talking about loves - 'the most important relationship you'll have is the one with yourself'. Abso-f***en-lutely.
Oh yeah, in case you hadn't guessed, I'm here in Oz too, in SA. And ditto on the Knit Happens Lorna's Laces, it's a gorgeous colourway, perfect for Em's jumper! Well done!!
