Ribby fronts are done! Amazing
Ribby fronts are done!
Amazing what I can get done when I'm the only prson in the house for 12 hours a day. Mind you, Twinky feels I'm smothering her ;)
I've also been a virtual sewing magician. I cut things out, run them through the machine, and hey presto, new outfit for Em! I should have taken a pic this morning before she left, will take one when she gets home. She's wearing a very bright ensemble today that I whipped up from a Lizzie McGuire pattern.
I also picked up a pattern and some fabric for me. Spotlight has brought put a range of Retro Patterns, and I immediately wanted this jacket.
They also had their wool suiting on special for $6 a metre! So I grabbed enough for two jackets.
The lighter one is pinker than it appears here. I'm not quite sure where I'll wear these jackets, but I just liked the pattern so I grabbed the makings while they were on sale.
The sewing bug is back :)
Obviously I need to get rid of my family more often - loads of knitting and sewing, less housework. I even get to hold the remote!

Aah, those patterns are brilliant, no? I got the 50's Dress one, they're soo cool! I didn't see that jacket one, I think I'll have to get it. Spotlight's pretty cool.
Posted by: Monique at January 21, 2005 05:38 PMWow, Donna, you're so crafty! I love the black with pink material! That will be so cute even with jeans! My mom used to make me outfits, hence, I never learned to sew. My hubby sews a little though....well he made a cape for himself so he really can sew. Just don't look too closely at his seams!
Posted by: Evelyn at January 21, 2005 05:48 PMNow...did you knit both fronts at the same time??
Love the new suitings....but no time to sew at this point!!!! :) Lisa
Posted by: Lisa in Oregon at January 22, 2005 12:52 AMI love the costume and the headpiece. I made 2 headpieces for my step-daughters' Holy Communions. They came out nice - but what a pain - but I enjoy it so I should stop complaining.
Anyway, I love the pattern for the boucle jackets. Who is the designer/pattern company? I also love the fabric selections. I think they would look great with just one button and hip hugger jeans!

Oh, how I envy your sewing abilities. Though when I'd find the time is a big mystery.
