I'm extremely tired today. We
I'm extremely tired today. We live in South Western Sydney. Nearby us there has been some disquiet (to put it mildly) in a nearby neighbourhood. In any case, there have been police helicopters hovering day and night since Friday night, and the noise is becoming rather bothersome. From where we live, this is the only impact on us, but I want to sleep quietly!!
I also had a freckle removed at the doctors this morning. 60 Minutes had a story last week about melanomas that had me scurrying off to the doctors, and he found a freckle on my hip that was a little discoloured, and he cut it out this morning. He's pretty sure it's just a freckle, but better safe than sorry.
So, considering all the circumstances, I think I deserve a nothing-but-knit day ;)

Eww...cutting off a freckle sounds like so much fun! But it's good you got a doc to look at it. Hope it didn't hurt much!

Posted by: celia at March 1, 2005 10:38 AMUnderstand about the noise. we have had helicopters so low here I swear they could count the pegs on the clothesline. We're near the train line and often have escaped prisoners over this way,not to mention security over Olympic site at Homebush.
Knitting sounds like good therapy or some meditation to drown out the noise.

I hope all the police and noise dramas calm down soon for you. I've been following the news and it sounds just dreadful. Better to be safe than sorry with regard to the freckle. Sometimes you've got to love living in this sunburnt country and our skin cancer problems!
Posted by: Jacqueline at March 1, 2005 08:55 PMSounds like I'd know what was happening in your 'hood if I lived in Australia. Hope it calms down soon.
Posted by: Colleen at March 1, 2005 11:56 PMSounds to me like some serious knitting therapy is needed. Hope all the noise settles down soon for you all. Maybe you will have to move to Tassie where it is quite and peaceful (most of the time):)

Good for you for taking care of the freckles Donna! I type reports all day long on skin biopsies, and it never ceases to amaze me when the notes say "has had huge, black, ugly thing on right side of face for 13 years, growing more than usual."
PUH-LEEZE! how huge and ugly does it have to be before we get it taken care of?? Argh. Early detection is the key...
