Another quick entry today. I
Another quick entry today.
I have been trying to teach Emily to knit since she was about 6 or so. As I said yesterday, she'll be 12 in a few weeks, and the going hasn't always been good. She wants to knit, she just can't seem to get the hang of it, and wasn't enjoying it.
Whilst surfing the web the other day, I was reading bits about continental knitting. I knit English, always have, and doubt that I could knit any other way. When I started thinking about it, Emily can't hold the yarn in her right hand, twisted around her little finger the way I do. She kept saying "It doesn't feel right, I can't do it" BTW, she is righthanded.
It suddenly occurred to me that maybe I should show her how to knit continental.
Talk about a Eureka moment. Her face lit up and she said "That's so much better!"
Then she knit five rows on her cozy for her most precious possession, her mobile phone ;)
We're taking Twink to the vet this morning. When I was taking photos yesterday, I was laying on the floor in front of her, which is a different perspective than usual. When I was taking the photos, I noticed a "lump" under her chin. This is new, and I'm a little concerned, so we're off to the vet.
It doesn't seem to bother her, but I'm a worrywart. :)

Twinky looks different from this perspective! I learned to knit when I was about 9yo. But I had no patience so I quit after knitting a few rectangles. I sure wished I re-picked it up sooner rather than later!

En's hat is wonderful! And so is hubb's! Quite the hat maker!
Here's wishes that Twink gets a clean bill of health...:)
