The prize yarn arrived, and I'd like to say that this is yum!
Here it is being modelled by the monkey-to-be-named.

That's the pattern, beside the monkey. There are three different lace scarves to choose from in the pattern, and the skein of yarn is enough to make any one of the scarves. Here's a close up of the colours, as shown by Emily (Gameshow model of the future? ;)

Em is taking this all very seriously. She is considering all the suggestions very carefully. She would also like me to tell you all that she wanted me to give away a skein of Artisan to everyone who enters. She didn't believe me when I told her I couldn't afford it. ("But it's just a tiny little ball of yarn!") So she's thinking very hard, but she's enjoying it immensely :)

Onto the knitting!
The mystery shawl grows daily. I'm partway into Clue 3 now, and enjoying it immensely.

As usual, it doesn't look like much unblocked. Here is a close up, sorta stretched out.

I'm not sure about the variegated yarn, although I'm happier with this than with the Morning Mist Shimmer. One minute I love it, the next I'm undecided.
I'm looking forward to blocking it. I love blocking lace :)
This is all I've worked on lately, so that's all the news.
Don't forget that the competition close Sunday night local time, check the previous entry for the competition details!

My suggestion to the monkey names is Dilbert. Why? I just don't know.

Tell Em that she is very generous and sweet, but what kind of a contest would it be if everyone won? *lol*

The shawl is looking fabulous! I love the colourway, it's going to be stunning when it's finished! :)

I'm getting lace fever over here! :-D I love the varigated lace, probably because I'm working on socks sorta in that color scheme. Besides, the colors blend well together so the lace pattern isn't lost. How can you stand not to know what the shawl is going to look like? Of course you have to keep knitting it up, and FAST, to see what this shawl will become!

I love the mystery project...still incredibly impressed with the whole process of knitting with "clues". Some of us need it spelled out, thankyouverymuch! :)

Emily is a doll....

The monkey is cute as is Em the future model. While I would love to win the yarn cant think of a name for the monkey.

Looks like a CHEEKY monkey to me. :0)(a la Mrs. Doubtfire "Oooh you cheeky monkey!")

Monkeypalooza is the silliest name I can think of. Ho hum. The yarn is GORGEOUS and Em is a sweetie for wanting everyone to win! Lovely monkey, lovely mystery shawl - I am crazy about variagated yarns and use them all the time.

Hey glad to see you're progress on the mystery shawl. I just finished clue 3 in a rainbow variegated laceweight and am having knit envy at all the more solid colour ones I am seeing.

I am so liking the happy dance - and yours looks great.

But this comment is really all take and no give - when you go to block the shawl can you either post the process or email me with some tips? I have never blocked anything this big b4 and lack fancy blocking wires and such so I don't know what to do it with let alone where I'm going to find the space.

Roll on clue 4.

It's tradition in our family for all new babies to get a hand-made sock monkey. I SO much like the knitted monkey better. The only name that comes to mind is Monte.

Monte Monkey, hmmm.

Or "Hey Hey", as in "Hey, Hey we're the Monkees, and people say we monkey around...", but I show my age.

Hi there, when I was Em's age I read The Wishing Chair by Enid Blyton, and think that Chinky (a fun little pixi), would be a great name for your little monkey. You could have a Chinky and a Twinkie!

What a cute monkey. The picture of the two sleeping is priceless. I suggest Morton or Mortie the Monkey. Don't know why, it just came to me while looking at him. Cocoa would also be cute for him.
