A long overdue blog post, but it's back to the knitting!
Shawls don't make good blogging do they? They look like crap on the needles, they seem to grow so slowly and they don't give you an awful lot to say!
Anyway, the Mystery Shawl is off the needles.

Doesn't look like much, does it? The lace pattern is lost, and it looks all lumpy and yuck. Well, it's had it's bath and is blocking right now. However, silly me has pinned it out on red and pink beach towels, so you still can't see it very well :)
So, no pics yet. You'll have to come back tomorrow! ;)
The shawl has not been very portable, and Nat reminded me (in a roundabout way) that I hadn't worked on a sock in quite some time, and seeing as the Sick Sock Stash is not shrinking (quite the opposite!), I thought a sock was long overdue.

A sock for Em, in Lorna's "Girly Stripe". She wants the socks l-o-n-g, so I'm working toe-up, and I'll just keep going until I use up the whole ball!
Twinkie has taken every opportunity to be naughty this week. She got under my bed again, and Em caught her in the act.

Doesn't look concerned at all, does she?

Em is making her Confirmation tomorrow night, lots of pics then, I promise!

Such bright happy colors you are working with - can't wait to see the blocked shawl!

My mom wants some knee socks to keep her warm in winter. So I've got some toe up socks in my future too. Except my mom wants something boring, like navy blue and just ribbing. Blah! They've been on the back burner since last Christmas because they will be such a thrill to knit!

I'm glad your Dad is doing better. :)

The shawl is going to be stunning! I can't wait to see how it looks blocked. And I love the sock. What pattern is it? Bunny is cute and mischevious ... that's sweet. :)

How exciting making her confirmation, I remember when I made mine (many, many, many years ago), do they still pick a confirmation name, if so, what has Em picked.

Congrats on the confirmation Em! My confirmation name was Brenadette. (For a number of reasons I'm sure but mainly after my Aunty Dinny who was my sponser(? is that right, it WAS a long time ago?)) Glad to hear that everything ok with your Dad. Those toe up socks look great.

Lorna's yarn is the best for toe up--not like I've done much toe up, but the yardage per skein is a lot for sock yarn-how far you think it'll go up?
