Shawls make boring blogging. There, I said it. And it makes it feel like I'm getting nowhere fast!
The Feather and Fan shawl is growing. It is! I swear!
I'm up to row 114. Out of 190. Sounds good, doesn't it? However, I have only just started the second skein of Alpaca Cloud. Which means I'm only about a fifth of the way through. Recommended yardage is around 2200 yards, I have 1700, so mine will be smaller anyway. But to have come so far, and to realise that I haven't really come far at all is kinda disappointing.
The shawl is lovely, though :)
Here is the centre bit.
Here is the Feather and Fan detail.
So, I'm slightly more than a quarter of the way there. I can't promise that I won't get sick of it long before the end, though!
Twinkie is the essence of a lazy bunny. This is how a lazy bunny spends the morning. You find a nice spot in the dirt, then you flop down so that your head in the middle of a nice green patch of grass, and you don't have to go anywhere when you want a nibble.
That's the life!

Donna,
The shawl is beautiful!
It looks heavenly! What an accomplishment that you've gotten this far - hang in there for us!
Posted by: Mary Beth at September 15, 2005 11:49 PMYour shawl looks beautiful! Those row numbers can be deceiving ... you'll be finished knitting it and have it blocked off before you know it. :)
Twinkie is as cute as ever.
I love the pictures of Em dancing are great ... the classic people's heads in the way pictures are too funny. Congrats to her for getting Honours in all of her dance exams! That's great!! :)
Posted by: Samantha at September 15, 2005 11:55 PMIt looks pretty already.
Posted by: wool winder at September 16, 2005 12:04 AMIt's beautiful! And it's not boring blogging...you keep it right up, because I have ABSOLUTELY NO interest in doing it myself (hee), so it's sort of like watching Home & Garden TV or something....watch you, enjoy watching you do something that will probably never happen in MY life! ;-)
Posted by: Norma at September 16, 2005 12:28 AMThe shawl takes my breath away! Very pretty and can't wait to see it in the full glory!!
Posted by: margene at September 16, 2005 05:57 AMOh Donna, it's not boring at all.....it is breath taking!!
Damn, that Twinkie is just too cute for words! Smart bunny she is...hehe
Posted by: Kim at September 18, 2005 10:09 AMHay! I do that too. I spread some timothy hay near my head and lay down just like Twinkie is in that pic. Chillin' with a big strand of hay hanging out the side of my mouth.
Um... is lazy the same as resourceful?
Posted by: Simone at September 20, 2005 01:33 AMI am so jealous! I bought the yarn for that pattern ages ago, and I'm too nervous to start the circulat beginning. Can't wait to see YOURS finished....

I knot the feeling--I'm working on the Super Spiral in the same book....and it feels like I'm accomplishing absolutely nothing! Sigh. Well, at the moment, I'm not....it's on hold for a mystery shawl.... ;)
