September 22, 2005

Well, the long abandoned project was Charlotte's Web.
I selected a knit edging from Traditional Knitted Lace Shawls, did the whole thing, and finished this afternoon.
I have just reblocked her.
It is huge. Ridiculously huge. It should be 38" x 76". Even without stretching it, just laying it out on the floor wet, it is 48" x 90".
So, I will frog her and start over. Again.
But not tonight.

I was going to suggest you use it as a long elegant shawl but then I realized it's almost blanket size, isn't it? Hmmm... how about you just fold it in half and use it as a doubly thick and warm shawl?

WOW! That is big. I went down a needle size on that so mine isn't even as big as the written size, but I had to really block the heck out of it to get it where I did. Because I have no shawls with fringe I have decided to do this one with, but I am in analysis paralysis over how to do them. Ugh!

I'm thinking a blanket might be nice. Maybe?
