Resistance is futile!
Well, it is for me. Mystery Shawl 2, Clue 1 is done. A few people have asked about the Mystery Shawl. It's a knitalong, which can be found here. We have no idea what the finished shawl will look like, and the clues are posted each Friday. The first one was just posted on September 30. Each "clue" is actually a chart for a section of the shawl.
This clue only took 45 minutes or so, so it gave me a nice little break from the Other Shawl.
I'm using Knit Picks Shimmer, in the "Morning Mist" colourway, that I overdyed with Landscapes "Opal" a couple of weeks ago.
Now I can go back to the Feather and Fan shawl, until Clue 2 next week, when I will try to resist again, and probably fail again :)
And for Sandy, todays sky.
It is a gorgeous day in Sydney today, and tomorrow is a Public Holiday, so a long weekend to boot. Hope your weekend is good, too!

Lol! I guess we think alike a bit. I was trying to wait until I finished my Kiri, but gave up last night and wound off some Shadow in Sunset to do mine in. It confuses the cats.... ;) "But mom, you already have that green thing going. And a purple thing. And the blue thing you never finished...." The cat's are too practical. And Shadow (the cat) likes to chew on Shadow (the yarn). It was very nice of Knit Picks to name a yarn after my yarn fiend, don't you think?
Posted by: Cathy at October 2, 2005 09:51 PMThat shawl start is gorgeous! No coincidence that I think it LOOKS like the sky? :) Love the knitpicks shimmer!
Thanks for sharing your beauty above! Australian sky! Whoohoo! Enjoy your long weekend!
:)
Wow, so far I really like that lace pattern, and the colour is lovely. I'd do the shawl knit-along, but I have too much other stuff to do and lace causes me to have to concentrate too hard. *lol* I can't wait to see how it comes along! Have a great long weekend! :)
Posted by: Samantha at October 3, 2005 06:47 AMThe mystery shawl knitalong looks like fun. I may try the next one. Are you able to finish knitting each clue in a week? Sounds like a good way to manage your time when knitting a shawl.
Posted by: wool winder at October 4, 2005 12:29 AMOooh! The mystery shawl is such an interesting idea! I would join, but I'm so terrible with knit-a-longs. Every time time I join one, I never finish the item. It's almost like a curse for me!

Eh, why resist? ;-) At least knitting has no calories!
