So I finally finished all the sewing I needed to do, and with a week and a half to spare! Rehearsal is yet to come, no doubt I will get some back for adjustments, but what a relief it is to have it all done.
The knitting has suffered a little as a result, unfortunately. But I did manage to finish clue 4 of the Mystery Shawl 2 today.
My mum popped in today when I was working on it, and was very admiring of it, so I think it will end up under the Christmas Tree with her name on it. I'm glad I got clue 4 done, seeing as the next clue will be along any minute.
Am I the only person who is not happy to see Christmas paraphernalia all over the shops already? Our supermarket has had a bunch of stuff out for quite some time, but every week there is more and more.
I must admit though, that I have already purchased an ornament.
Em pointed him out to me, and I couldn't leave a polar bear on the shelf, could I? I wish I could have manage a totally Polar Bear Christmas!
And who needs a man with a rose between his teeth, when you can have a bunny with a dandelion?
Happy Weekend!

I like the way the border of the shawl is knitted as you go, not added later. I feel the same about Christmas showing up in the stores already...just call me Scrooge.
Posted by: wool winder at October 29, 2005 04:10 AMAwwwwwwwwww I just love Twinkie. And yes those decorations are out way too early. But got to love the polar bear.
Posted by: Carol at October 29, 2005 08:50 AMI definitely agree about all the Christmas-y things in the shop. I swear they are getting earlier each year!
Posted by: celia at October 29, 2005 10:31 AMWhat a sweet bunny picture! I love it.
Posted by: Erica at October 29, 2005 01:43 PMxmas in shops in early october FREAKS me out no end. my friend just out her tree up. thats just too much xmas cheer for me to be dealing with this early.
Posted by: taryn at October 29, 2005 08:34 PMI guess I'm a real Scrooge, too--I hate Christmas music and decorations. My sole defense is that I worked in shopping malls for 10 years, dealing witht he idiots from early November through January (returns). Working later, starting earlier, etc. And listening to canned music that repeats--the cycle is about 3 hours, so most shoppers don't notice, but when your'e there daily, you notice. But I admit your bear is cute!
Posted by: Cathy at October 29, 2005 10:54 PMHave you seen clue 5? I'm NEVER going to finish that clue before Christmas. I've done 10 repeats of the 292 stitch border, only 51 to go...and it's full of mistakes. I can't wait to see yours though.

Hooray for getting all your sewing done. A relief it must be!! :) The mystery shawl is coming along nicely. I'm sure your mum will really love it.
You are not the only person who dislikes seeing Christmas stuff this time of year. I'm a very firm believer that Christmas should be left souly to the month of December. *lol* Last year my tree went up on December 15th (day after my son's birthday) and was down on Dec 27th.
