My Blog

November 17, 2005

My hubby is away tonight, on a business trip. Anyone who knows David is laughing at this point, but it's true. He flew out this morning, and will be back tomorrow evening.
Someone told the arachnid population. Because he was no sooner out the door, and one came in. Having no choice but to deal with it, I had a panic attack, then I sprayed it with half a can of insect spray, it fell onto the lounge, and I very bravely sucked it up the vacuum cleaner. Now I'm scared to use the vacuum, because even though I know it's dead, I can't use it, knowing it's in there.
Unreasonable, but true. Yes, I know I'm pathetic.
That was the big deal of the day :)
I've been busy with the Vanalinn gloves. I finished one.

And I'm past the thumb hole for the second.

I really love this Baby Cashmere. We went into the city last weekend, and whilst at Kinokuniya, I picked up "The Knitted Teddy Bear" by Sandra Polley. Qute a few of the little bears in here call for fingering weight, and the cashmere would just be divine. Elann has some at the moment, but I'm trying to resist. Goddess knows I don't need any more yarn. But cashmere teddies. Yum.

Behold, The Sphinx

The gloves are beautiful! Did you guys dress up Twinkie for Halloween? That would be so funny!

I recognise that pose! Funny that we call it The Sphinx too. Then there's the "first I stretch my front legs" followed by "then the back ones" and "big yawn"!

lovely gloves. ouch, those rosewood dpns.
I have been looking at them for a while, tossing up whether to get them or not.
Do you think they are better than bamboo, should I just in and grab a set, or three!

The gloves are gorgeous.

Love the gloves.

Spiders don't bother me but they do bother my elderly mum very much. She hates insect spray but will use it in a spider. One night there was one in her bedroom. She couldn't leave it to go and get spray from laundry because it might disappear, and then she couldn't sleep no knowing where it was. So she grabbed a very old can of hairspray from a cupboard and sprayed it till it went stiff! Then swept it into a dustpan.

The gloves are really beautiful. I have an awful spider phobia as well. I keep a couple of spare cans of heavy duty spider spray just in case as I tend to use at least half a can per spider (depending on size). I'm with you on this one Donna - hubby thinks I'm a huge sook but they really freak me out and as for the vacuum cleaner, if it has a spider in it, I'm not touching it!

ooohh nice job on the gloves. i have never been brave enough to try them those fingers look like they could send me round the bend.

The gloves look tasty. I'll send over Sophia to eat the next spider.

Gloves are pretty. lol about the spiders... I'm not afraid of spiders but I hate roaches! Worse thing is pesticides don't work on roaches unless you spray from the side (their 'shells' protect them too well.) which is quite a feat. Hehe. Btw, I finally got my blog up. I've linked you, hope you don't mind. =)

Opps. sorry. lol.. there it is. =P

It's so much worse when you spray them and then CAN'T FIND THE CORPSE. Been there, done that. I;ve updated my blog, honest ... well, a couple of piccies at least. Hugs, Judy

Spiders = devil's spawn. Have you ever noticed you can look at a blank wall, then look back two seconds later and there's a spider IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WALL? How do they do that? Black magic, I think.
Bunny Sphinx! My late chinchilla would do that too... so cute!

The gloves are beautiful! I love it when my doggies stretch out like that. I didn't realize bunnies do it too. I hope that the spiders wait until your husband comes home to come back out.

It must be the weather for spiders to come out. Kit was chasing one the other night and I did the same, spray and spray and spray till spider no longer moved.Twinkie is so cute like that. Both cats are checking out the monitor today.

Sorry about the spider ... I feel the same way about bees. *shudder*

The glove looks GORGEOUS! It looks like it fits really well too! :) Have a great day!
