Me-e-e-e-emorie-e-e-es...
We are in the process of cleaning out the kitchen and family room in preparation for having our linoleum replaced tomorrow. n the course of this cleaning, I found a box full of photos and negatives. Most of them are of Emily and my various nieces and nephews, but some were older photos, school friends, dorky photo booth photos and the like.
And this.
That's me with Michael Hutchence from INXS, circa 1984.
Sigh. I can't believe it was 21 years ago - and that I was 13, only a year older than Emily is now. Scary. Mind you, I don't think I'll tell Emily that!

Oooooh a brush with a famous deadperson - much Kudos needed. I met Sting once, said something very silly to him and he dismissed me with a wave of his hand.....the bloke with the plate in is mouth sitting beside looked at my like I was stupid too! (Well, I was completely in love with him - didn't he know that? Damn nerves!)
Nice hair - Michael!
Posted by: Donyale at December 5, 2005 02:53 PMwhen i first saw the picture....the first thing that i notice was the resemblance between you and emily!! like they said, like mother like daughter ^_^
Posted by: Michelle at December 5, 2005 03:27 PMomg, I am so jealous! You touched Michael! Wow...
Posted by: La at December 5, 2005 05:29 PMditto for the jealousy! I gazed upon him from afar in the Melbourne Tennis Centre, twice...
Mmm I would've made him happy....eek that sounds stalkerish!
What a cool thing to have!! JT and I had our wedding night at the same hotel he sadly departed in. Perhaps the same room!!?? *shudder* lol :-)
Posted by: the stripey tiger at December 5, 2005 09:20 PMWell now, telling Emily is really just based on 'what' you were doing with ole Mike there - hehe. Nice story - and so fun to read everyone's comments about their brushes with fame.
Posted by: Shannon at December 5, 2005 09:28 PMExcellent picture.
Posted by: Kathleen at December 5, 2005 11:06 PMFun picture.
Posted by: wool winder at December 6, 2005 12:25 AMYes, WHAT a strong resemblance! And wow, he had his hand around you - you must have been a little happy about that, eh? Hee
Posted by: Norma at December 6, 2005 12:33 AMLucky you, Michael and INXS are my most favourite of all, Steve still teases me about him.
Posted by: Anne at December 6, 2005 07:54 AMYou both look very cute! :-) Ah, INXS... takes me back to high school. Poor guy.
Posted by: Janet at December 6, 2005 03:13 PMWhat a great picture!
Posted by: Wendy G at December 7, 2005 12:19 AMWhat a great find!
Posted by: monica at December 8, 2005 06:51 AMDonna, you look just the same! And so much like Em..wow, it ws really startling, actually.
Oh, and I'm "too young" to know about Michael. But I do know from a young adult perspective, that I don't want the details about my mama's rendezvouz!!
Posted by: Renada at December 9, 2005 02:33 AMOMG Donna, look at that. Even Micheal looks young there! And that new romantic hairdo of his. Are they ruffles on his shirt? How sad. I was so in love with him. I once walked past Paula Yates on the Kings Road in London, she had the two girls in fairy dresses and Tiger Lily on her hip. She justed looked like a normal boho mum to me.
Were you totally peeing your pants while this photo was being taken???
Actually, you and Emily bear a strong resemblance (of course, but I mean strong)RYN thnx! Its my first time yarn-dyeing and I enjoyed it alot. =)
