My Blog

December 23, 2005

Today it was 34C here, so not much knitting got done. Instead we were stupid and hit the shopping centre again. This time, however we got clever and caught the train instead of trying to find a parking spot. It was much easier! Not recommended if you're shopping in bulk, of course.
Tomorrow we're expecting temperatures of 39C (102F). Not looking forward to it, and despite swearing off shopping centres until at least June, we may end up at one just to sit in the airconditioning. (Does anyone else remember the episode of "Married with Children" where Al packed the whole family up and set them all up in deckchairs in the supermarket?)
So whilst we were out and about, I saw this.

I'm learning to love the camera on my phone!
He's about four feet tall, and has a motion sensor, that when set off makes him sing a christmas song and play the guitar.
Unfortunately, there's no gift that big under the tree, and Em assures me that all my gifts are under the tree, and that there are no four foot high parcels hidden about the house. Dammit. ;)
In other news, this

needs to become a tutu asap.
Can you knit a tutu?

You're making your own tutu???!!! Wow, woman, you're amazing! It's been very warm here too. In the 60s F. And I'm going to my in-laws in LA for Christmas and my MIL said it was 75F when we talked this past weekend! I know it's supposed to be warm where YOU live but it is definitely supposed to be WINTER here! I'll have very little access to a computer the next several days so have a wonderful Christmas with your family! Have lots of good food and fun!
