Still no knitting, word is that the current heatwave won't break until Monday. For New Year's Day, we are apparently expecting temperatures of 40C. Yay, or something.
So, seeing as it was too hot to wrangle with yarn, I decided to tussle with tulle instead. Call me stupid.
20 pieces of tulle attached, 16 to go. Each layer gets harder though, as you have to try to get it all under the sewing machine and keep the previously sewn bits out of the way.
I made Em's first tutu, and after that I swore I would never make another one. I had the most recent one made, at a cost of $270 for a plain, undecorated tutu. That woman earned every penny. I think I'm swinging back to "I'll never make another tutu as long as I live!" ;)

Hi! I've been reading your blog for quite awhile now but never commented (I just started my own blog and now understand the importance of comments, ha ha)
Your tutu is pretty impressive--I've done a bit of sewing and for me even simple things can be frustrating. I have to say though, if it was a choice between $270 and making it at home, I'd probably try making it myself.
I love your knitting, sorry it's too hot to knit there. For some reason I can't get over the fact that it's really hot where you are when I'm freezing here!
I think I would have preferred to knit one. But it looks great! Good luck with the finish.
Posted by: Chris at December 31, 2005 12:31 AMHey there - just what I got today? A Christmas ornament from you! Thanks so much!
That tutu is out of control - but I love the color. The weather here is just perfect for knitting - but I'm doing more bathroom rework than knitting.

Happy new year!!!

I would make a complete mess of things if I attempted something like that!
