Thank you every one for the emails and comments! I'm feeling a little better this week, but completely unmotivated and uninspired. For my week off, I have very little to show.
The pink cardi continues.
Two very curly, unblocked fronts.
Two half done sleeves. And that's the whole of the knitting I have achieved. Realisation has been slowly dawning that Em needs her tutu at the end of the month, so I've had to work on that a bit.
(click for big)
It's coming along, but there's still some work to be done. More diamonds, some of the flower motifs are still only pinned on, the whole top plate needs to be sewn on, the elastic straps aren't sewn down, and the bodice needs to be decorated. Thant's all!!
And the colour is all wrong in the picture!
Christy tagged me to show the view out my front door. Well, now you'll all know that I don't live in a gorgeous big mansion! Here's the view down the driveway.
And here's the view up the driveway.
They all look the same, yes. We live in a block of villas. At least that's what we call them in Australia. There's 24 smallish houses on the same (large) block, all with a common driveway and a handkerchief backyard.

That tutu is just gorgeous. You are really very talented.
Twinkie's got it all worked out ... where there's food, there's happiness!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Get well soon.
I think the tutu is simply gorgeous! I know you'll be glad when it's done.
Posted by: wool winder at February 28, 2006 11:31 PMYou should change the name of your blog to "SuperMom Knits and makes Tutus" ... the tutu looks great! :) And even though you say you haven't done much, the cardi looks wonderful too.
Twinkie is right ... the food is always the most important thing.

The tutu is beautiful and the cardi is making progress. Twinke is just a cutie.
I totally agree with everyone else - positively wonderful! All of it.
Posted by: Shannon at March 1, 2006 12:30 AMWhat a beautiful tutu! I am so impressed. ;) I love the color on the cardi and I'm sure it will be just gorgeous when you are done. Bunny sure is cute!
Posted by: Christy at March 1, 2006 12:39 AMMy jaw just dropped when I saw the tutu--it is truly spectacular! You have some serious sewing talent! Your daughter is going to outshine everyone else when she wears it.
Posted by: lobstah at March 1, 2006 02:55 AMI think it's amazing that you make these wonderful tutus! When I was little and dreamed about being a ballerina, the tutus were definitely something I would love to have. Curling fronts are very funny looking! But they look like they were fast knits.
Posted by: Evelyn at March 1, 2006 03:34 AMTwinkle has his priorities straight! Are these tutus that you sew your own designs? They are so beautiful!
Posted by: monica at March 1, 2006 04:17 AMHey D - Sorry I didn't manage to have a look at how the zhivago was knitting up on sat -sorry I was in a bit of a mess - a helluva day! I think its so great that you guys come down to snb. Would you like to come to lunch at my place before hand one time?? :-)
LOVE the Tutu - Milly would too.
And you say you didn't do much this week....... bah
seems to me you get more done in a week than I would ever get done in a lifetime. Poor Miss B would NEVER get a tutu, let alone an amazing one like that in this house :)
Great to see you back on deck! Em is going to look gorgeous in that tutu.
Take care of yourself.
Posted by: Meaghan at March 1, 2006 07:17 AMThat tutu is absolutely gorgeous, you are so damn clever.
Posted by: knittingannie at March 1, 2006 08:49 AMYou've a charming neighbourhood. Is Twinkie resting on his chin?! He's so cute! And that tutu looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished product (jacket too).. =D
Posted by: kessa at March 1, 2006 11:59 AMI'm glad to hear you are feeling better. The tutu looks amazing, Janet is right you are truly talented.

As long as you keep throwing in a picture of your bunny, you could live in a tepee and no one would notice. I think your neighborhood looks quite charming, actually.
And the tutu is inspiring. You're a devoted mom!
