So I think I'm suffering Startitis. Despite the fact that I have the new cardi, the Trellis scarf and a pair of socks on the needles, I keep finding new things I want to start.
Like the Sivia Harding Diamond Fantasy Shawl knitalong.
Like new socks.
Now, I actually still have a pair of socks on the needles. Back in December, I started a pair of Trekking XXL socks for DH, using the 2 socks on 2 circs method. Love the yarn, but the 2 socks on 2 circs method isn't doing it for me, so they're languishing, untouched.
And I keep thinking about other socks.
Here's the sock stash.
Rabbit included for scale.
Here's a more detailed shot.
All those pretty colours, pretty yarns, they're whispering to me. I'm hearing voices. They say "Knit me." And still I keep being tempted to buy more.
I'm trying to be strong, because I know that if I cast on another pair, DH's socks will never get done.
Oh, the temptation!!
And I have a toothache. I'm off to the dentist in the morning, but I'm a baby and I'm scared. And I'm tired, because I've not been sleeping, due to the toothache.
Maybe I should buy some sock yarn to make myself feel better ;)

I've been having the same feelings recently minus the toothache. I've nearly finished the second Tiger Jaywalker & am working out in my head whilst at work which yarn to start next. I keep getting my sock yarn out & looking at it.
I've convinced DH & DD to get me another ball for a Mothers Day pressie on the 26th BEFORE I start Stashalong - far more useful & exciting than flowers.
Good luck at the dentist.
Posted by: blueadt at March 16, 2006 06:21 PMHmmm - dare I say SNAP - I think we were chanelling each other today!
Posted by: Donni at March 16, 2006 06:30 PMmaybe you could bribe yourself to finish the socks wit the promise of more sock yarn (I've made a list of colourways for when that day arrives!)
Posted by: Nat at March 16, 2006 07:55 PMYummy, the purple yarn are the front of the (huge) pile is really nice. But all the wintery colours are appearing on the shelves. Oh dear, its a vicious circle!
Posted by: Precious-Stuff at March 16, 2006 08:52 PMMy sock stash is in a similar size tub - but looking at it closely I realise that some of it is actually a scarf stash as well, so I think you win there :)
Good luck with the dentist - toothache is no good. I hope it;s something easily fixable and not like the cracked and infected tooth I had last year (that cost so much to fix that it would have bought enough sock wool for the Army!!)
Posted by: Judy Edmonds at March 17, 2006 07:13 AMYou will feel much better after the dentist visit today, you will wonder what all the worry was about (anyway that is how it goes for me). Bite the bullet get the dentist over with then get a handle on those socks for DH.You will feel much better having finished them. Says she who trys to only have one thing on needles at a time.
Posted by: Annie at March 17, 2006 07:36 AMMe again :)
I was walking Miss B to school and thinking about your poor abandoned socks ( what else would I be thinking about at 8:30 am??)
And I was wondering......... couldn't you just transfer them to dpn's and then they could become lovable socks??? No says you have to continue knitting them on 2 circs.
* no one says.........
Posted by: Carol at March 17, 2006 08:37 AMYou've got some great yarn there! How bad does your husband want his pair of socks finished anyway? Maybe he's forgotten about them.
Posted by: wool winder at March 17, 2006 11:30 AMI'm with Carol - except I change my UFO socks TO circs!
Really impressed with the "classified" stash - or maybe "jealous"! :)
Posted by: fitknit at March 17, 2006 02:48 PMThe cure for everything and anything is "buy more yarn", of course this is my personal philosophy....that and lots of drugs when I have a toothache!
Posted by: Meaghan at March 18, 2006 03:05 PMOuch - Hope you recover from the toothache soon, Donna. Hi Twinkie!

Prescription for toothache:
Purchase sock yarn.
Posted by: Carol at March 16, 2006 05:54 PMThe more expensive the better healing properties it contains.
Rub new sock yarn against your cheek. Healing properties will absorb through your skin to the sore tooth ( really it will).
Repeat as neccessary.
