And one other random thought that just occured to me.
Being school holidays and all, Disney Channel has been on high rotation on the idiot box.
The first movie I ever remember seeing at the cinema was Bambi. I cried when Bambi's mother was killed by the hunters.
It's been on the Disney channel this month, and I came in the other day right at the scene when Bambi and his mother were being chased by the hunters.
30 years later, and I cried all over again.
Maybe there are some things you just never get over, huh? ;)

Know what makes me cry? It happened 8 years ago, but thinking about it can turn me into a baby easily ... the day my hubby (then boyfriend) left for the military. I remember watching the airport shuttle leave his parents' house (at 3am) while I sat in his car (he gave it to me) and then I drove home. I don't remember the drive home except that I was driving slow because I was bawling so hard. He broke his knee ten weeks later and was honourably discharged from the miltary. The day he came home is in my top five list for the best days of my life ...

I guess some things in life, fiction or non-fiction, will always make us cry, eh?

Sounds like a bad day. I totally understand about the 'mothers'.. in a pretty different way. I realise sometimes people will forget to look at the big picture. Twinkie really looks like he's posing for a picture being taken!

The fire scene always scared me when I was little. Bambi's mom dying was really sad. I'll probably still cry - losing your mom is sad no matter what age you are!

Back to the routine may have something to do with your knitting mojo missing in action. I always feel like I am expected to entertain all the time on the school holidays. I remember when I was young and we used to play outside until the end of the day, just coming in for a bite to eat. Nowadays children expect a lot more I think. I have to struggle to get my son outside, even on really nice days. As for Isabelle, well she'll play outside on cold days, and I have to drag her inside. Anyway, I had better not rant anymore, I wrote to cheer you up. I bet by the weekend that your mojo will return. Maybe you just need to buy a new knitting book with something that you really like in it. Hope you have a better day.

For me, it's The Incredible Journey. I accidentally watched the last 5 minutes, which are supposed to be the happy ones, a few weeks ago and I bawled my eyes out. I cried buckets!!! I have banned myself from watching that, and any Disney or other films, with dogs!!!
