Despite the fact that I have the beaded socks on the needles, I've been looking through the stash deciding on what to knit next. I'm thinking I might start the "Savannah Jumper" kit I bought from Nundle Wool Mill way back in December 2004.
Here's a pic of the sweater.

I've also been thinking about buying the "Sweater Wizard" software. Has anyone used it? Opinions? It's quite expensive, and I'd like a few opinions befor I hand over that much money. I did a google search, but I didn't get a whole lot.
You know sometimes you just have an idea in your head of what you want to knit, and you can't find a pattern, or your yarn is the wrong weight? I'm far too lazy to work out the math for myself! Thus, I'm considering the software.

The socks are progressing, although I've been sewing, and today we were out and about.
We went to the Pet Store again. It's a rare day that we go to the shopping centre and *don't* visit the Pet Store, but today Em made a friend.

Emily was far happier than she looked in the picture! The bird is trying to eat her earring. I thought we'd get another budgerigar, but now Em has decided she wants a cockatiel. We didn't bring this one home, although Em wanted to. Poor Fuzzy has only been gone for 2 months.
And in other news, Cyclone Larry's presence continues to be felt.
I love bananas, but haven't had any in a while. While we were in the frut shop, I tried to take a surreptitious picture of the price, but it didn't work. They were $9.95 a kilo. Ten bucks!! That's half a ball of sock yarn ;)
And they were tiny little things.

There won't be any bananas around here for a while!
Luckily for Twinkie, there's still dried banana chips in her bunny mix.

The Tasmanian miners are still underground, although it's now hoped that they'll be out sometime tomorrow morning - tonight will be their 12th night down there.

Why are the bananas so expensive??? Here in canada they are the cheapest fruit right now. I like the colores of the pullover. Have you made kits before? Is it cheaper to buy kits or just more convinient?
Boy, I'm sitting here, eating my breakfast, reading blogs, but I think I'm not really awake just yet.

Oh, by the way, I'm eating Banana bread waffles! Sorry, didn't want to be watering your mouth, I just thought it funny.

Is anyone really bananas at that price?!?

Prayers are being said for the miners. Hope they are out soon.

I'm also lost as to why bananas are so expensive! At Trader Joe's they're often 19cents a banana. I don't have any sweater design software but I use Ann Budd's book to design my own sweaters all the time. It's very easy to use and there's very little math involved. I love the look of set-in sleeves so I do the math to make sure it'll work out. I just read the articles on Knitty about sleeves and it's not so bad. But then again, I'm ok with the math.

Our bananas were that price a week ago, and have now gone up to $12.00 a kilo. I dont think that all those bananas before the cyclone have been eaten yet, have they. Their just taking advantage of the storm to make a profit. We paid $7.00 for about 6 bananas the other day just so Isabelle could have one for kindergarten. Its ridiculous isnt it. I like the pattern for the jumper. I have seen this pattern somewhere before, maybe an advertisement. I hope you knit it up soon.

No I don't think I'd be buying banana's at that price either. I'm not sure what they are here.

I love your socks, so pretty with the beads.

Your cardy turned out beautifully.
The scarf is gorgeous and you have to stop knitting so many nice things, my wish list is way too long.;)

I used to use Knitware software, they have a free download, which is great, it generates the pattern for you. I use Cochenille garment designer now, but have kept the Knitware program on my computer, it is very good (the link is on my site under the button for SSK)

The banana situation is unreal, I refuse to pay $10 a kilo for bananas for banana bread! I understand that the government doesn't want to import bananas because that will completely undermine the poor growers, but it does suck.

If needed - I'm happy to send bunny crack (AKA banana chips) from the US so she doesn't go into withdrawals.

They are 10 here too, more at the local independant supermarkets like IGA. We have a local fresh food market, and they are $3 a kilo, but they are not 1st quality, and don't last a week. Its also one of the only fruits Ian will eat (sigh)

Bananas were $7.50/kg at the local Safeways here yesterday, but they were the ginormous ones, about a foot long, which take you 2 goes to eat! The F7V opposite had "organic" bananas, whatever they are, for $9.99, but they were nearly the same size as the supermarket ones. Lady Fingers are always more expensive, but there weren'r any of them at either place. I sometimes get them as at least you can eat them one at a time! At least there's a few decent apples around here just now - they seem to have a few new season's ones, not the floury jobs which have been in the cool store since this time last year!
Banana chips are only suitable for rabbits - they are a cruel joke invented by dentists, to increase their bisuness for humans!!

it is beyond it the prices that they are charging i saw spuds for the same price as them i think from now its anything pre packed or frozen

We took one look at the bananas down here (about the same price) and decided our eldest could eat pears at school this week. The cost was shocking.

Lets hope after all is back to norm with the crops that the prices go back DOWN!!

Bananas are the same down here Donna. 7 - 10 a kilo for the past two weeks or so....now there's none at all. Looks like there's going to be banana rations until the guys up North get back on their feet.

Watch the Savannah jumper. I knitted it in the middle size with the larger arm variation - way too big (I'm about a 12). The arms are oversized and yuk. While I love the pic I hate my finished product. I know, my fault for knitting it too big but I feel like the Michelan Man in it (remember, the tyre guy...).

Catch up with me about Sweater Wizard........
