I haven't got a lot of knitting done over the past few days, but I did get a little bit done on the Nundle sweater.
But I've been in denial.

I'm not happy with it. I prefer the striping the way I've done it, but that pale blue stripe is throwing me off, I think. The colours are still not photographing well, (and I took the damn thing all over the house trying to get a good colour picture!), but the pale blue just doesn't seem to fit in with all the other colours.
The others are all muted sort of shades, and the blue is standing out.
If I just keep knitting, I'm never going to wear the finished item. And the more I look at it, the more I hate it.
So I'm going to rip back to that stripe.
I took a look at the Nundle colour card.

That pic is actually closer to the colours than my pic. Those are all the colours in the kit, except there is the pale blue instead of the Dusky Rose. Why?
So I've ordered some Dusky Rose, and I'll just replace the blue with that. I think it works with the other colours better.

Twinkie has gotten into the habit of inviting her friends around for lunch.
Usually the back door is left open for her to come in and out as she pleases, but this is getting out of hand.

That is a freakin' pigeon in my kitchen. The rabbit has got the shits now, as the back door is shut. As soon as I open the door, they all want to come inside. I kid you not, there is a queue of pigeons at my back door, waiting to come in and share Twinkies lunch.
And she doesn't even mind, she just sits there and watches them eat it.
Maybe I need to trade her in for a cat.

Hmmm, I hadn't noticed the pale blue - till you told me.....

That blue stripe does look off at first but I went back and looked at the original kit picture you posted and it has a stripe that stands out too. Now it doesn't look so bad, but I'd be like you and go with the Dusty Rose instead.

No trading Twinkie!

Don't think I could live with that blue, either. I hope the change to dusty pink does it for you.

Just wondering if you take the blue out ( which I would probably do) would the pale green then stand out as it doesn't seem quite as muted as the other colours???

I like the idea of dusky pink for sure........

Oh and get better too, tell Em she didn't need to be quite that generous :)

Yes, the blue does stand out!! Good luck with the replacement. Birds come into the house to drink from The Labradors' water - The Labradors hate that and chase them away!!!

I think the dusky rose will be better. :) Do you want Scooby? While he doesn't have the shits--he does have the pukes!

I would have thought, that if used several times, the blue would have had it's place with your sweater. With just one stripe knitted of course it stands out. Important is that you REALLY like what you knit, otherwise what's the point?
I'm scared of birds, this one would have me in a panic, running and screaming (na, not really) but I prefer four legged friends and do NOT wish harm on the featherd ones. ;o)

Maybe you could just get a cat in addition to Twinkie--it could chase the pidgeons away. I've seen some cats that get along well with rabbits. It might be worth trying. Besides--every knitter should have a cat trying to take over their lap while they knit.

I hope you feel better soon!

You are right the blue has to go. Maybe if you put seed outside they won't want to come in. On the down side you will get a whole load more birds:(

I didn't notice the pale blue until you mentioned it, but now that you mentioned it, it's all I can see.

Maybe if you got a scare crow or something the pigeons wouldn't come in. Are they scared of anything?

I see what you mean about the blue. It looks good in the colorway but it just pops too much. I think the dusky rose will work better with the other colors.

Poor Twinkie! All the pigeons taking his lunch.

It sounds like you are on the right track now - the rose will be very nice!

Hi ,I did this jumper last year in Bendigo wool as I thought the Nundle wool felt too coarse for me in their sample card anyway! I will post a photo later for you to see my colour choice.I had one that stood out but as I was keen to get it finished to wear ,went ahead and got heaps of pliase and compliments.Surprisingly it was the standout colour that made the article in the end!
One thing I didn't like about the pattern was the rolled edge didn't roll enough and I had to tack it at the seam and the sleeves were/are a bit firmer/close fitting than I would have wanted!
Can't wait to see yours!

Hi again, just realised that you are doing a similiar jumper to the one I did but Mine had a rolled edge, stripes are the same though!

Nope! No trading. The bun STAYS.

But those birds coming in the house would piss me off too.

Try swapping Twinkies food for plain pellets - the pigeons will be less interested, and Twinkies digestion will thank you :) Still planning on sending you some apple branches, but I am the worlds worst mailer of things. Sorry !

I didn't notice the blue at all until you mentioned about it! To be honest, when I first looked at the photo, I thought to myself, hmm, nice colour combination. In my opinion, the blue brings liveliness to the overall jumper. But this is personal preference, dusky rose will look nice too!
