It's my birthday next week. This year, I really do turn 35. Last year I told everyone I was turning 35, but then David pointed out that I was actually only turning 34. Jeez, you think I'd take a year off, wouldn't you?
I've already received some gorgeous gifts. I love it when birthdays go on for a week :)
Pretty packages from my freind Jill. I tried to save them for next Wednesday, but I was about to explode. Patience is not one of my virtues.
Look what she sent! Far too much, but every single thing is awesome.
Men in Knits. And he has even picked a couple that he would wear! Knitting Over The Edge. The yarn harlot's Knitting Rules. Beautiful Knitting Patterns. I'm having a love affair with stitch dictionaries lately.
No Crack Super Hand Cream. Lifesavers pastels. (Yum!), and this cute little tin.
Perfect for stitch markers. Full of these addictive little Grren Apple Mints. Seriously, you can't eat just one.
I've only had a quick flick through the new Interweave Knits, but the Icarus Shawl grabbed me right away.
It calls for Alpaca Yarn Co. Suri Elegance, but that's just a tad out of my current budget, so I think I'm going to use Misti Baby Alpaca instead.
Donni gave me an early birthday gift, too.
A gorgeous notebook which will be hidden well away from Emily, and the most divine smelling soap.
I feel spoiled :)
Today my living area looks like this.
Can you guess what we bought on Sunday? We're currently awaiting the delivery truck. Of course, the other end of the living area looks like this.
The truck is supposed to be here by 3pm. I just know they're going to show at 2.55pm. I can't even sit down in front of the TV and knit while I wait!
Edited:
It's 5.40pm. This is the current state of my living area.
Not Happy, Jan.

What DID you buy on Sunday - too many margaritas will do funny things...glad you got the pressie - Kaela ripped it out of my hands and when we got inside I forgot all about it! Thought you could make many knitterly notes in the journal!
Posted by: Donni at May 24, 2006 05:29 PMOur birthdays must be close - mine is on Friday 26th. :o) You got some great stuff in those little packages. Lucky you. Patience isn't a virture of mine either and I wouldn't have been able to wait to open such pretty packages either. Happy Birthday!
Posted by: Terri at May 24, 2006 06:31 PMHappy birthday! You really made yourself a year older? I admit to forgetting how old I am at times but I generally go down a few years. Not up. LOL!
You've got some very cool pressies there. Congrats!
Posted by: Dot at May 24, 2006 09:41 PMOh, no! They haven't delivered yet? If it were this household, they'd have a hopping mad red-head on the phone with them (that would be the hubby). For some odd reason, he manages to get all kinds of results when he puts his mind to it--and there are times I would love to be the fly-on-the-wall watching it all! Lol!
Posted by: Cathy at May 25, 2006 12:44 AMEeek! I hope your living room fills up fast! Oh, and the hats from the last post are cute enough to eat!
Posted by: Jade at May 25, 2006 02:29 AMOMG, I can't stand the suspense! Is it a TV? Is it a couch? Is it a spinning wheel? No, DH looks too excited for it to be anything just for you. Show us!!!!
Posted by: Evelyn at May 25, 2006 04:02 AMMy birthday is late in the year so I always told people I was turning a year older than I really was so that by the time my birthday rolled around I added a year again! Very confusing--but it happens because I'm old!
Posted by: monica at May 25, 2006 04:06 AMHope your new funiture has arrived. We once went a week without a couch...got a little tired of sitting on the floor.
Posted by: wool winder at May 25, 2006 09:45 AMWhat have you bought?? Damn those undeliverymen!!
I steel myself NOT to open early presents, but sometimes I fall by the wayside too!! What excellent gifts!!!
Is it there yet? I am guessing by the empty room it is a lounge, how did you go last night did it arrive or are you still loungeless.
Posted by: Annie at May 25, 2006 02:09 PMDavid makes a great model!
how are you going to save the new lounge suite from Twinkie?????
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I've looked at the Icarus Shawl a dozen times & still can't make up my mind if I like it or not.
Your new couch looks fantastic, how exciting, I love new furniture, how sad is that?
Hmm, is it a new couch set? New TV/entertainment center?
