The truck finally showed up around 6.30pm last night.
Lucky for them, I was out chaufferring Em around, because I wasn't a happy camper, and there may have been Words. But it's here!!
New furniture! Cream seats! I think I'm insane!
It didn't look quite so big in the store, but of course it was in a larger space. It takes up much more space than the old furniture did, but it's way nicer. Of course, a barbie chair would look huge in our tiny house.
The old lounge suite was bought when Emily was a baby, and it looked like it. It was stained, written on, rabbit chewed and well past it's use by date.
I improvised on end tables.
Stash boxes!
Of course, now the television is too small ;)
Comments
hehe...probably a good excuse to get a new tele then??
i've been buying yarns faster than i can knit them :( probably i need a stash box soon!!
Posted by: Michelle at May 25, 2006 02:51 PMOooo pretty... are the stash boxes full?? or need to be filled? lol
Posted by: Vicki at May 25, 2006 03:31 PMThe television set is *not* too small
Posted by: DH at May 25, 2006 03:48 PMYep the Tv is too small ;) he he
Nah seriously the couch is beautiful, but what I really want to see is what is inside that stash box:)
Very nice, very tasteful!! MrsMacGyver thinks a TV can never be too big, I'm for small to medium sized myself!!!!!
Posted by: 2paw at May 25, 2006 06:13 PMCome on DH! Don't be a spoil sport - that TV could be much bigger? I am wondering though....have you converted the lounge yet to hold yarn "a la jussi"?
Posted by: Donni at May 25, 2006 07:04 PMLovely! The spinning wheel adds a nice decorative accent....
Posted by: jessie at May 25, 2006 09:17 PMi like it and well if you redo that sort of purchase you need to update the electrical essentials as well
Posted by: tianne at May 25, 2006 10:58 PMLooks nice in your room! Bet it's comfy. Have you always had the spinning wheel? I don't remember you talking about spinning before...maybe I just forgot.
Posted by: wool winder at May 26, 2006 12:27 AMIt looks wonderful!
Posted by: Becky at May 26, 2006 02:31 AMDid you get the rug too? I love the new couch! Recently, we just got a new couch (in a beigey herringbone color) and now DH cannot eat on the couch. We also got a large flat screen HDTV. And we recently ordered a coffee table. One thing leads to another! The older stuff in the room just looks even more crappy after the new couch was settled. BTW, happy early birthday! I can't wait to open presents either...DH guilts me into waiting though.
Posted by: Evelyn at May 26, 2006 03:26 AMLounge is very nice, looks so cumfy. Our tely is about that size, but with digital coming in I am hoping it will last till the death knock then we shall get a new tely. Love the side table things, they look great.
Posted by: Annie at May 26, 2006 10:34 AMIt all looks lovely. And thanks for the tip about end tables/stash boxes. We move into our new house in 2.5 weeks and I might just steal that idea of yours. We knitters have to stick together right?! ;o)
Posted by: Terri at May 26, 2006 04:18 PMI love the stash boxes/end tables.....must get some of those. I also love your new couches - very nice. I'm trying to convince my DH to make me a coffee table that has a retracting lid (they made it on Better Homes & Gardens) with storage inside. But he won't .... probably because he thinks I'm going to use it as a huge yarn storage box.....don't know where he got that idea...?
Posted by: Meaghan at May 26, 2006 04:45 PMHappy Belated Birthday! Your new furniture looks wonderful! Tell Twinkie that Peaches says hello.
Posted by: Nanette at May 26, 2006 07:02 PMBeautiful living room--it looks so comfortable! I love new furniture (if only it wasn't so expensive).
Posted by: lobstah at May 27, 2006 12:00 AMThe sofa looks really comfortable to sit(knit) on! btw, I didn't know you spin (cool!)
Posted by: kessa at May 27, 2006 02:46 AMMy POM gift is in the mail (as of today). If you believe it, I for some weird reason, thought you lived in the States. They claim it will take 7 - 10 days....
: )
Posted by: Cece at May 27, 2006 07:37 AMJust get a larger television! Problem solved :-)
