I got my knitting back!
I went to the doctors this morning, and the receptionist told me how lovely it was, and that she'd shown it to everyone in the waiting room when she found it.
However, not having the sock around gave me plenty of time to work on the Fair Isle gloves.

That's the front of the glove, and that's the start of the flower petals you can see in the green.

That's the palm of the glove. Those "stripes" make up the pattern for the whole palm.

But I do have a bit of a problem. The gauge called for is 32sts x 32rows = 4". I'm getting 32sts, but I'm getting 40 rows. So the width is right, but the length is a bit squishy. I'm hoping I can stretch it a bit at the blocking stage. Or that the recipient has little squat hands!
Emily is feeling much better today, and is going back to school tomorrow. Thank you for all the well wishes!

Glad the sock was safe. The glove is coming along nicely! I hate when the stitch count is right, but the row count is off. Surely, they will fit.

Those gloves are gonna be gorgeous! I've gone on over and saved this pattern to knit up myself. I hadn't seen it before so thanks for sharing. I wanna make 'em now but I better not start ANOTHER new project. Ha ha! Hopefully the guage will be ok in the end. Fingers crossed.

What's the "left over" yarn you're using?

Oh....the Lorna's I just receieved........I even rubbed it on dh's face and he didn't even flinch. The man is cold and heartless.

I was up at BMFA's today helping them get ready for a fiber festival this weekend. So many of the colors were calling my name, solids of their Sock Candy, which is cotton, but it made me think of Fair Isle Gloves. Are you really going to do all those fingers? Please, oh please, oh please show us when you are doing them??? :)
I'm am deathly afraid of knitting those fingers. Now I just need to find some nice soft wool for Fair Isle.

Hope Em is feeling better.
