The glove remains in the same state I left it in, but thank you all for your input!
I'd never thought of myself as a perfectionist, and Donni seems to think I can't help myself from ripping it out, so I think I'm going to leave it, just to prove to her that I can!
Well, really it's because my lazy side is beating my perfectionist side to a pulp. I've been weaving in the ends as I go, and ripping it out means undoing all those ends.
Mind you, I'm not totally decided, so it sits, untouched.
So what do you do when your current project is leaving you frustrated?
You start something new!
It's the Icarus shawl from "Interweave Knits" Summer 2006.
The yarn I'm using is Misti Baby Alpaca in Black. It's a little splitty, but I love the feel of it, and the halo it has. As you can see, I haven't gotten far wiith it yet. I think I have about 4000 rows before the real patterning starts.
And if starting a new project isn't enough to ease the frustration, you whip out the dyepot.
Knit Picks Dye Your Own Sock yarn, dyed wth Gaywool originals in Meadow, Iceberg and Watercrest.
And look what arrived today!
It's my Jordana Paige satchel in Grape, from Yarns Online. It's gorgeous, I love it!
And there was even stuff in there for Twinkie.
Paper, for chewing and dragging about the house!

you lucky girl a knitters satchel. I can only keep knitting and saving my pennys for a messenger bag.
Posted by: tianne at July 20, 2006 11:27 PMI think I would rip it. Love the new bag!!
Posted by: Kathleen at July 20, 2006 11:29 PMI think a lace project is just what you've been needing. Love the colors in the sock yarn!
Posted by: wool winder at July 21, 2006 01:05 AMbeautiful dying!! Love the color combo and the bag too!
Posted by: Michelle at July 21, 2006 02:21 AMOoooohhh, a Jordana Paige bag!!! It's lovely! I've resisted so far and just toted my knitting in fancy shopping bags. I did buy a cheapie diaper bag once - I love the little pockets for baby stuff that I fill with knitty stuff!
Posted by: Evelyn at July 21, 2006 03:55 AMI am so going to cast on Icarus also - my finger was on the trigger button, but now, I think I'm pushed over the edge!
Posted by: Nat at July 21, 2006 10:55 AMoooh...did you use wool winder to wind that yarn so nicely??? love the colours :)
Posted by: Michelle at July 21, 2006 02:11 PMI too have the same dilemmas, it depends on who i'm knitting for!!! love the shawl and fair isle! has inspired me to get back to my knitting!!!!!
Posted by: corrie at July 21, 2006 05:19 PMBeautiful shawl and a beautiful satchel! Glad Twinkie had something fun to play with, and your dyed skein looks great too. What are you planning with it?
Posted by: Debby at July 22, 2006 02:28 AMOoooh, I love that bag! Very nice! Your Icarus shawl will be beautiful. The colour is great. :) Twinkie is a very lucky girl getting all that nifty paper.
Posted by: Samantha at July 22, 2006 09:15 AMOoooh, nice bag!! LOL. I wonder if carrying the same knitting bag to a knit'n'bitch in public would be as much of a 'sin' as wearing the same outfit to a function!!
Posted by: NattyChick at July 23, 2006 01:11 PMI'm so jealous I've been knitting a few months now and dropped what I thought were unsubtle hints about a Jordana paige knitting bag for birthday and got what really wasn't a knitting bag at all, just a tote - no pockets for any bits!
Posted by: sally at July 26, 2006 07:33 AMHay! Mama never orders me anything when she gets a package for herself. Hrmph.
