It's all about the Zephyr around here lately!
Ailsa and I are sharing a rather large shipment, and I'm starting to contemplate exactly what I want to do with all that laceweight. Peacock Feathers is on High Priority, and it's not like I have a shortage of laceweight patterns that I want to knit. It's figuring out which ones to knit when that's the hard part!

Now I've found out that Zephyr will soon be available in Australia. Can I get a Hallelujah? I think David just got a shudder down his spine.

Meaghan at Yarns Online is going to stock it. She's only starting off with a couple of colours, to see how it goes. Buy up big everyone, and then there'll be even more to choose from! I think I'll just have all my money sent over to her bank account, and she can ship me yarn at regular intervals ;)
She'll have it in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking that even though I already have something like 15,000 yds of Zephyr, David won't notice any more slipping in. Sshhh.

To celebrate, I got out some Zephyr I already have, in Vanilla.

It's going to hit the dyepot. I can't tell you what colour it will be, because I haven't decided. Stay tuned!

Em's school had a pupil free day today, so she has been trying to teach herself a new trick all day.

Really, I think she's just trying to make me wince.
And Twinkie has a vet appt tomorrow, for her annual vaccination and check up. Hands up who thinks he'll mention that she maybe has a little bit of a weight problem?

Look, even she thinks so. Two hands and two ears up!

Are you sure Em won't snap!!!!!!
Twinkie is slim, trim, taut and slightly tubby??? The Labradors are always on diet of boiled celery or grated zucchini, perhaps THEY are rabbits????
Happy Lace weight!!!

LOVE Zephyr! I have 2 cakes in Iris marinating in my stash at the moment. Oh, and we managed to get Jessica Bunny's weight down from 7 pounds to a svelte 4.5 pounds in one year. The secret was getting rid of her 2x a day greens, and only giving one romaine leaf for dinner with unlimited timothy hay. Good luck!

Uh Em,
That looks like it hurts! Mighty impressive though. Try not to give your mom a heart attack.

Mmmm...Zephyr. It's like crack for lace knitters! Proud to say it is spun in state I live (Maine)! It's lame that they withhold so many yarns from Australia--what's up with that?? It's not like we live in the 1800's or something! I guess at least they're slowly making their way there.

I bought some Zephyr earlier this year for the Feather & Fan shawl that I have not started. I've never seen it before and I just love it! And it comes in so many amazing colors that it's just too hard to choose. Em is soooo flexible - ahhh young bodies!

You mean that's not a knit fur muff around her neck? I think she has a nice girlish figure! Ouch! Please Em, don't make me cringe.

What kind of Rabbit is Twinkie? My little ballerina is a bunny fiend and is dying to have more than just the stuffed variety. We are not ready for one yet, but when we are I want one as cuddly looking and sweet as Twinkie.

I'm about to try out Zephyr's DK yarn.. Wondering if its as good as its lace-weight cousin. Em's new trick is amazing.. Makes me wonder how far a body can go.. Perhaps Twinkie's body was adjusting to the cold months.. Now its Spring in Australia, Twinkie might lose some of that fur and 'insulation'.. but she does look good in them anyway. =D

What fantastic news about Zephyr lace weight. I have emailed Meaghan as soon as I read your post and asked her to let me know the colours she is getting in. I have been hanging out for Zephyr for ages and have come very close to ordering it from the US.

Can't wait :=) Twinkie looks gorgeos, I've never had a pet rabbit, just dogs and cats, perhaps one day I will get one, but not just yet as I don't think the dogs would be too impressed and it wouldn't be fair on the bunny either.
