Saturday sky.
Grey and gloomy. Wet and cold. Spring peeked it's head around the corner last week, then decided it wasn't quite ready, and let Winter carry on. Bastard.
However, it's good weather to sit inside and knit.
Cece is growing.
I'm up to the sleeves now, having got the body up to the armholes. Then you knit the sleeves, join the whole lot up and knit it in one piece to the top. Minimal finishing, love it!
So what happens on a quiet, wet weekend?
Twinkie plays garden statue.
She sits really, really still, and thinks you can't see her.
Em went to a slumber party last night. Why are these things called slumber parties? No-one ever gets any sleep. Well, until they get home at any rate. So Em is spending the day like this,
And so we took the chance to go to the movies while we were Em-less for the evening.
Don't go see "Lady In The Water". It's atrociously bad. I have never walked out on a movie part way through. (Well, except for Arachnophobia, but that's a totally different kettle of fish), but I seriously considered walking out on this one. The only thing that kept me there was the idea that it surely had to ge better.
It didn't.
So now I'm going to plant my butt on my sofa and knit. Enjoy your weekend!

I saw Margaret and David's review and thought:NO!! Yes, sleepovers are badly named!!! Awakeovers I think.
Posted by: 2paw at September 9, 2006 07:05 PMaww come on the weather was the problem who didnt want to crawl back into bed. I wish I could have but bonus knitting weekend
Too bad, the movie previews looked interesting to me. Guess I'll save my money and wait for it to come out on video.

I HATED that movie! My friend and I went to see it when I went home for a visit and we kept looking at each other like "is this going to get any better???" I was so disappointed because we normally love M. Night Shamalan's movies. We love Twinkie...so adorable, esp the photo of her getting brushed.
Hope your spring comes soon...you must be so sick of winter by now and I'm sure Twinkie wants some bright sunny days to play outside.
Em has the right idea. If you can't knit, sleep. :)
Posted by: Debby at September 10, 2006 02:16 AMI don't think sleeping was ever on the sleepover menu. movies, giggling, and loud music was thou. Your pic last week stunning sky.

Posted by: danielle at September 10, 2006 04:25 AMThanks for the tip i was planning to see it tonight.
Posted by: kylie at September 10, 2006 09:17 AMGee Em has the right idea, too cold outside to do any thing half worthy.
I think I had the same bed as a child (it had matching furniture as well).
Thanks for the 'heads up' on Lady in the Water....I love M Night's stuff and was going to go see it next weekend. I'll save my limited opportunity for a movie outing for something more worthy!
Ene looked gorgeous - I wore it out to dinner on Sat and so many people commented - how could they not....it's beautiful. A treasured birthday gift, thankyou.
