I'm a slack blogger, aren't I?
I was feeling better, then I felt like crap again. Australia's weather has gone insane, and no-one knows wtf is going on. It's mid-November. That means we're heading into Summer. We should be having weather in the mid 20's, nice and sunny.
It's snowing in the mountains! It's cold. Well, it was this morning. Then it got warm this afternoon. Now it's cold again. I'm in my winter pj's, with woolen socks and my frickin' dressing gown on. No wonder we've all been sick.
Snow. In Australia, in November.
But I'm really overdue for knitting updates, aren't I? Not that there's been a lot of knitting going on, but I'll update all the same.
Spring Blossoms. The purple blob.
It's still a purple blob, but it's a bigger blob. Nearly finished the seventh repeat. Each row is currently taking 45 minutes or so.
My art director was on hand to help out with the pictures today.
So I asked her to help with the ZigZag socks.
Nearly done! Here's a better view of socks number 2.
Only the toe to go! The pattern seems to be correct, so I'll put it up when I'm done.
And that's as much knitting as I've managed.
Yarn buying? Yes, I've managed some of that!
Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed in "Fleece". Bought from eBay at a bargain price to make this.
What's one more project in the stash anyway? The cardi is from the new Jo Sharp "Knit" magazine. Speasking of which, remember the Rowan All Seasons Cotton I bought recently to make the lace paneled sweater from the same magazine?
I bought a bag of the yarn from eBay, 10 balls. The yardage was just a tad short though. So, to be on the safe side, I ordered two single balls from English Yarns. I figured that I could alternate those balls with the balls I ordered from eBay on the back of the sweater, and it would be fine.
Luck was on my side.
The yarn from eBay.
Sorry for the crappy lack of focus.
The yarn from English Yarns.
I hadn't even dared to hope.

Scoring two yarn orders from the same dyelot means that project is destined for greatness. Congratulations!
Posted by: jessie at November 16, 2006 11:09 PMVery cool stuff, especially the matching dye lots! And if I put my WIPs on my kiddies, they would be so miffed, treats would have to be given!
=:8
Wow, matching dyelots! What were the chances of that?
Posted by: wool winder at November 17, 2006 07:20 AMOh that's gorgeous! All of it. love the purple blob. What is it exactly???
And that JS cardi is going to be lovely.
hey, it snowed in Canberra on Wednesday. Freak weather. Just too freaky for words.
Posted by: Bells at November 17, 2006 07:26 AMHey.. glad we're not the only ones with wacky weather... it's supposed to be about -15 or 20, and today was +8... gorgeous!! but now it's all wet and mucky.. weird?!??!

How lucky can you be with the dye lot! I have the same cardi marked too, as I have some spare JS Yarn for it. Love the ZigZag socks, hope you will post the pattern for them soon :=).
Posted by: Helen at November 17, 2006 10:21 PMThat must have been the find of the year! Well done!
I fear I may be coming down with the flu as all the boys with exception of oldest have had it and right when I need to finish my resume criteria for my job,I feel like crap too,I have given up everything this past week or so to get it out of the way, this weekend its got to be done,
so maybe early next week I will blog again... have a good weekend!
I think we have your warm weather by mistake. It's 60F here...unheard of in November. I still have flowers in my garden that the frost should have taken last month. But I'm not complaining...it could also snow anytime. I hope you all feel better soon.
I love that sock that Twinkie is modeling. It's the prettiest girliest sock I've seen and the beads make it even better! The purple blob looks great too, but wow, 45 min on a row.
Awesome match on that dye lot!!!! That is really wonderful!!!!
