Saturday sky, just a few days late.
Once upon a time, I used to blog every day. Where did I get the time??
The carpet rose is blooming again.
This is all thanks to David, I can't grow anything. Lack of attention span and forgetting to water anything at all may have somethng to do wth it.
Saturday was Stitch n Bitch, followed by our christmas dinner. A great time was had, but the only picture I took all day was of Miss Bronte. She wasn't very happy on Saturday, and didn't want Sharon to knit. Sharon managed to finish this headscarf however, but I don't thuink Bronte wanted to be the model.
Still adorable, regardless!
I seem to be going through one of those patches where we're lurching from one minicrisis to another lately. Nothing dramatic, or really very serious in the big scheme of things, just very, very wearying.
This amused me, though.
A new polar bear, in very poor taste, but enough to make me giggle every time I look at him.
I also bought David a gift, with an ulterior motive.
A gingerbread man cookie cutter. It caught my eye, and I love gingerbread, so I bought this gift in the hope that it brings me little gingerbread men. I may also have bought all the ingredients to go with him.
All the avoiding of the kitchen has resulted in plenty of knitting time.
Enough that I got the front of the Lace Panel sweater done.
I'm loving it, but I haven't cast on for the sleeves yet. I wish all my projects knit up this quickly. It's almost going too well. There's going to be something at some point that's going to trip me up, I'm sure.
And just in case anyone has been wondering about Darwin lately, he's doing very well, thank you!
The honoured position!

Posted by: Katt Walker at November 28, 2006 05:33 PM"Bronte" is a great name! But knitting with babies is next to impossible, or at least it was for me.
I love gingerbread, too, and every year I make gingerbread men and plan to decorate them just like Martha Stewart does. Then I quickly learn that it takes 15 minutes to do each little person and they end up merely smeared with royal icing. Good enough....
That sweater is beautiful so far. Maybe it will be charmed and go smoothly from start to finish.
Posted by: jessie at November 28, 2006 09:01 PMHeadscarf is pretty in that colourway! I wonder who thought up the poo-lar bear idea. Its zany. Lol..
Okie.. Now I feel like having gingerbread too.
The lace panel sweater is beautiful. Who knows, it might be one of the perfect projects where everything falls into place. =)
Posted by: kessa at November 28, 2006 10:48 PMI love the roses! It's nice to see blooming flowers when things are starting to turn brown around here. I love the front of your lace sweater. It looks great! You can always call it a tank and stop here. The gingerbread man cookies are gonna be good! I love decorating them. One year, we made blue icing and gave all the gingerbread men demin overalls.
Posted by: Evelyn at November 29, 2006 06:23 AMI will definately have to make myself that sweater, yours looks gorgeous so far. I love that Darwin still reins supreme, and he is so cute and looks well loved.
Posted by: Sue at November 29, 2006 06:59 AMOh the poo-lar bear makes me giggle and Darwin too, but the lace Jumper?? I am in awe at your knitting speed!! It looks fantastic!!! I bought a gingerbread person cutter the other day, it has little extra bits that automatically press in a face and the buttons!!
