Thanks to everyone who offered a ball of Calmer.
A prettily wrapped ball arrived today from a friend.
And look at the colour!
Perfect for a pair of ballet slippers! I'm itching to cast them on, I even raced off to block the Lace Panel Sweater. As soon as it's done, I'm casting on for Twinkletoes. Or maybe earlier. It was 37C here yesterday, sticking hot, and today is cold and grey and drizzly. Bad day for blocking, so the Twinkletoes may hit the needles a little earlier, if I really can't resist!
This arrived today as well, and has my fingers itching.
It's a cashmere scarf kit from Rabbit Tree Farm. I first saw it on Kim's blog, and she helped me track down the seller, as they don't have a website. Wonderful service, with the whole transaction done by email, with just one quick phone call to provide my cc details.
The yarn is 80% cashmere and 20% silk, and just feels heavenly.
And we finally did it.
The tree is finally up.

Ahhh - yes - but what happens when you need some yarn? Does the Tree move nicely;)
Posted by: Donni at December 13, 2006 09:33 AMYay on putting the tree up......... I guess I should drag mine out from under the bed :P
Posted by: Carol at December 13, 2006 01:03 PMPretty pretty!! Does Twinkie mess with the tree like my Jessica, or does she ignore it like my Zydeco? Just curious!
=:8
I'm so glad you were able to get the little cashmere kit!!
Now that calmer yarn...I just may have to have some of that! :-)
Posted by: Kim at December 13, 2006 02:38 PMCute little tree, I like it. Em will love those slippers.
Posted by: Tammy at December 13, 2006 02:49 PMGlad you got the pink yarn you were after. It looks delicious and will make up a gorgeous pair of ballet slippers. I'm going to frog my LPJ and reknit using smaller needles. My gauge was off. That's what my problem was - I knew it, but didn't want to face it. Ha. Splish splash.
