My Blog

January 11, 2007

We have been pretty lucky this year in terms of the weather, it's been apretty mild summer. Certainly no ridiculous heatwaves like last New Years Day.
But today has been hot. And tomorrow is going to be hot. This is interrupting my plans to finish the Purple Blob.
I'm having visions of still working on this in 2008. Or 2009.

Of course, I'm kidding myself that it might be finished any time soon, no matter what the weather.
Up until last night I had convinced myself that I could finish it after this, the tenth, repeat. This is the same part of my brain that tells me that I can lose weight without exercise, and that one piece of chocloate, or one bar or one block, won't hurt.
Then I had a good, hard look at it. Even accounting for the fact that it's unblocked, it's still very small. And I still have this much yarn left.

Nearly 35g. Out of 100g. So the only reason that I'd be stopping after this repeat is laziness. Pure laziness. And yes, thats something I've been known to be guilty of on occasion.

Sigh.

There will be an eleventh repeat. Only because I'll kick myself when I'm done if I don't do it. That means I still have 20 rounds to go. Boring blogging ahead!

Twinkie is starting to love us again.

That may be because of the liberal offerings of food!

I KNOW that part of your brain - I have one too!! Rationality vs laziness on my part!!
I am glad Twinkie has decided to forgive you!!! She looks a bit down-eared and pursed-lipped still in her photo.

Ahh, that's the hot weather we've been having. Had our second hottest January night ever last night.

Keep going with your purple blob. You'll get there and you'll be so glad you perservered.

Well I think the purple blob looks beautiful even in it's blobbiness.

If Twinkie decides to move out she can come live at my house!

Well, if it's your hot weather that we keep having, you're welcome to it back. We're getting at least half of each week in the high thirties and it's killing me! Nice shawl, though the thought of knitting with wool makes me feel ill right now. (ACtually today isn't too hot, but the last few days have been and it will be again by Monday). Crocheting with cotton and knitting socks in a wool/cotton blend is all I can manage at the moment, and most of that is in front of a fan (that does nothing but move the hot air around, really!)

What a face! Twinkie looks like she's deciding to come around, but won't really decide until you give her another round of carrots or other treats.

I'm with you on the purple blob. I think, because I have more yarn and I'd hate to waste it, that I'm definitely going to have to add at least one more repeat. I'll know this weekend, and will be knitting with you in spirit on our blobs together.

Poor Twinkie-she's all skin and bones! lol
Ornery little thing!

Carrots and bananas are always a good start to groveling

Twinkie will love you anyway, without food :) You have to give a bunny space and time to be mad at you. I am fully expecting at least a week of RBB (Royal Bunny Butt - the only way a bunny can tell you she's mad at you is to turn her back on you).

I'm glad you had a good holiday, and thanks for the pictures of the turtles and goats!

That purple blob at least looks soft! If you stick with it, you're going to be so happy with yourself! My guess is that if you stopped, you'd regret it later and want it a bit larger.

Ah yes! The lazy v rationality gene. I have that too, and often wish I could finish off a project before I KNOW it's really ready. The rationality usually ends up winning though.

Lazy or not, it's going to be gorgeous. :)

OK, it's going to get into the freakin' teens (Fahrenheit) here this weekend. This is bizarre for CA, even Northern CA. I am coming to play with the bunny. ;-)
