It's my 600th post! Is that like an anniversary? Should I buy myself a gift? What's the traditional gift for the 600th post?
Seasilk perhaps?

Maybe I should have more 600th post anniversaries!
Seasilk, in Ocean. Divine!

Today was the first day back at school after the summer holidays. My baby is in Year Nine!
And she missed the bus.
Day one, and she missed the bus.
Lets hope that this doesn't set the tone for the rest of the year. But hey, her hair was straightened and looked pretty, and that's what matters, isn't it?!?
Pardon my frustration.

In other news, the Jo Sharp Cardi is coming along very nicely, thankyouverymuch.

Yes, that's a pair of sleeves you can see. This all went by very quickly, didn't it?
And the Bloomin' Feet socks are also behaving nicely.

I think Twink got a bit scared when Em missed the bus.

She went into hiding.

Well Donna, you obviously have excellent taste! SeaSilk no less and in a colour I would choose myself, in fact, I did! I bought the other skein. Have not received it yet, but it looks gorgeous. What are you going to knit with yours?
Congratulations on your 600th post.

Oh what an excellent celebratory present!! I think there should be more presents to one's self!!! We still have a fortnight of holidays here, but I see the mainland students wending their way already!!
Your needles are flying!! Will Twinkie suffer from withdrawl symptoms?? Will she miss the Grade 9's company? I am sure today was like a dress rehearsal: bad rehearsal- good year!!!

Now, I'm seriously jealous. I want some sea silk of my own and that is just a gorgeous color. But you do deserve it, so congrats! Love the socks, too! Hi Twink!!

The back-to-school grind...I'm glad those days are behind me. Love the Seasilk!

The bloomin feet sock is awesome. I love the pattern. It looks amazing. A 600th post anniversary ... of course you deserve something! :)

I'm sorry I had to chuckle at Em missing the bus. It reminds me of my sister. My sister would be late almost every day and the bus driver would ask me "is she coming?" and I'd say "yes" and so he'd wait for her until one day I got fed up with everyone giving me the evil eye because she was late and when the bus driver asked me if she was coming and I said "no" ... Boy did I catch trouble for it, but it was soooo worth it. LOL

Seasilk in Ocean...ohhhhhhhhhh. Lovely! Do you have plans for it yet?

Em missed the bus on day one, so she should be fine from here on in. Twinkie is going to miss her, I'll bet!

Oh, lovely anniversary present!! I have knit two scarves with Seasilk, it is divine!! I am anxiously waiting for the special yarn shop in downtown Portland to have their anniversary sale, I am going to buy some for myself!! Poor Twinkie, he's going to need some extra special attention. And the Bloomin' Feet, they are beautiful!! Take care this week.

Ooh are you setting the precedent for the 600th post. Sounds good to me by buying some seasilk too, just gorgeous. What are you going to make out of it. Hope Em enjoys her first day back. Mine both went today, and Isabelle started Prep. Goes by too quickly.

Beautiful sock. Do you ever use Twinkie as a model to drape your finished knits on? My son went through a time of missing the bus very frequently-I started charging him $5 per ride, and it ended real quick! (this was after the third or fourth time in two weeks. I'm not so mean as to do it right away). Your sea silk is lovely. Everyone seems to be talking about it lately. Let us know how it is.

You are making excellent progress with all your projects. I did grin at your daughter's punctuality...hehehe...I have two daughters, so I KNOW where you are coming from!! Ha. Oh and that seasilk is heavenly. What a gorgeous looking skein. What are you going to make with it??

Pretty SeaSilk! That stuff is hypnotically pretty...what are your plans for it?

Happy 600th post! If you get to buy gifts for such milestones, I might have to post more often! Teenage girls are sent to try us. It's funny, I remember wanting to have curly hair!

Posted by: amanda j at February 2, 2007 06:45 AM

Ooh! If that is what arrives for 600 posts, I can't wait to see what shows up for 1000!!

I haven't tried Seasilk, but have been looking into it. I've used other silk, and absolutely LOVE it.
Love the colour you've chosen.
Don't worry, I'm sure Em will "miss the bus" many more times before this year is out. lol

Your socks look wonderful! Love the pattern. You will love the Seasilk; I have a couple of skeins and I love the smell - so earthy.

I love the sock pattern. It suits both the yarn and the theme of the exchange.

And yay for Sea Silk. I've asked for some for my birthday, and if I don't get it maybe I'll take a page from your site and celebrate my upcoming blogiversary with it myself.
