Rain? We had rain! Lots of rain!
The local shopping centre's roof caved in under the weight of the rain.
The yard got wet!

Twinkie wasn't happy. She's three and a half now, and she hasn't really seen a lot of rain.

But she's seen enough to know she doesn't like it.
We had another visitor through the downpour. Early Monday morning, I could hear some distinctive squawking out the back.

A Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. They're not unusual around here, but he sat there in the same spot all day Monday in the pouring rain and all night Monday night. On Tuesday I was worried that he might be a lost pet, or injured, but then a friend came visiting.

Then they left together. He must have got his days mixed up for their date.

Is there anything better to do on a rainy day than knit? I think not.

The Fern Garden Stole is growing.

I've got the hang of the pattern now, and it's going along very well. I've also been working on the second Bloomin' Feet Sock.

I'm at that stage with both projects that blogging feels boring. It's the same old, same old, looks the same, just longer. Who wants to see that?
Of course, today is February 14, which is the first day of the Faina's Scarf-along, which means I get to start smething new. Now I'm entering danger territory, because I have far too many projects on the go, which means the blogging will stay boring. I apologise in advance.
I'm trying to be organised and apportion a certain amount of time to each project per day.
But lets face it, I'm not organised.

What a beautiful shawl you are making. I love the one you are going to make out of the Jo Sharp Silk Georgette too. Arent cockatoos just beautiful. We used to get a lot around here devouring all the leaves off the gumtrees, and then we had a big storm and they flew off the day of it, and then returned a few weeks later. I cant wait to see your finished socks too, just so pretty.

You don't have boring material at all,I love to see your progress even if it is a few inches, besides a piccie of Twinkie is worth heaps and the rain is simply wonderful, wish we could get some here...

Never boring. At least your projects are growing. I'm loving the stole. It's making me want to start one. And tell David that I loved the orange sky picture.

Well rainy days make us work so we can do more than one thing. Love them all and yes there has been just a bit of good rain. BUt we still need more to help the levels out. Youll get anonther rainy day and a good chance to hide with the knitting and the socks will be done so there will just be 2 then. Best not be me who has been finding projects to finish.

If we had birds like that in our yard my girls would go NUTS.

Your knitting looks lovely on both projects.

Knitting is never boring to me. I never did get the pattern for that scarf. I'm probably going to regret not joining the fun when I see your's taking shape.

So glad to hear you had some rain! That must have been a surprise, to see the cockatoo in the trees! Was Twinkie bothered by it?

I love your knitting photos -- they are not boring, they are motivational to me. :)

That's a lot of rain! Those cockatoo's are amazing and to see them in the "wild" is too cool. That stole is just beautiful - I think I have to search for that pattern now....

How cool is it that you live in a place where cockatoos are indiginous in the wild!

Poor bunny!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with 10 million project on the needles and yet are still casting on for Faina today!

The cockatoos are beautiful! You have such wonderful birds in Australia. I have never knit with white or black yarn - I'm always so attracted to all the other colors. I worry that I'll get bored with those colors. But I always envie other people's black or white lace projects. The Jo Sharp looks scrumptious!

Oh my gosh, I wish we had birds like that here! That would be so cool!

Now that's a lot of rain. Rain definately makes for a nice knitting companion . Like the other commenters I am more than happy to watch the progress of your knitting. The only problem may be that I love those socks a little more each time I see them and my list of "things to knit one day" is already way too long.

We've missed out on the rain, but got lots of wind.
Really loving the Fern Garden stole, and the socks are terrific. Can't remember if I got the pattern for those socks or not........I have so many. lol
