I have good news, and I have bad news.

The good news is that I have a finished item to show you all.

The bad news is that it isn't the Fern Garden Stole.

I finished the 12 repeats the pattern called for, then I decided that It could be just a little bit longer. So it's not finished. I decided on two more repeats, and I've done one, just one more to go, then the edging.

To soften the blow, I pulled out something that should've been finished long ago, and did something about it.

It's the Jo Sharp cardi that I started before we went on holiday.
It doesn't look like much in that pic, but I'm pretty happy with it. No-one home to take a picture of me in it, but I will endeavour to fix that over the weekend.
All it needed was seaming and buttons, so I worked at the seaming on and off all week, and picked up some buttons yesterday.

It looks pretty boxy laid out like that, but there is a little bit of subtle shaping involved.

There is a small problem, though. I started knitting this at Christmas, and since then, a friend and I have joined a certain weight loss group. And I'm shrinking a little, and I think maybe I'd have been happier with the next size down. But the sizes jump by 10cm (4") each size, so I'm right in between the two sizes right now.
And after I was displeased with the sleeves in the Leaf Panel Sweater, I made these just a tad wider. I wish I'd left them be.
But I might appreciate the extra size when the weather gets cold, and I'm wearing it over something else.
Overall? I'm happy with it.

Specs: "Tweed Cardigan" from Jo Sharp "Knit 2"
Yarn: Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed in Fleece

I really like this yarn. I knit a jumper for David in it about a year and a half ago, and it's really nice to work with, and deliciously soft to wear.

Another unfinished object I've not mentioned in a week or so is the Bloomin' feet sock. There's a good reason for that.

It's still unfinished. I'm such a slacker!

But here's something to distract you all from that.

Twinkie says Hi!!

I hate it when past experience leads you to modify a pattern, and then you find out you shouldn't have. The cardi looks lovely and the buttons are sooo cute!! You didn't need Twinkie as a disrtaction, welcome as a Twinkie distraction is!!!

The sweater looks great. And Twinkie is precious! We don't often get to see her head-on. This angle is very slimming-is she losing weight along with you? Ha.

I love that cardy, can't wait to see it on.
I never used to like cardy's much, but with all the airconditioning at tafe they have really grown on me. Actually I think the fact that the ones I see knitted up in blogland are so much nicer than anything you see in stores has had an influence too :)

And that sock..... I want that sock....... actually I want both socks seeing as I have two feet, but you know.......

The cardigan looks great, and I am sure it will be better a bit bigger than a bit smaller. At least it will keep you nice and warm. The socks are looking great too, and Twinkie is always such a cutie pie.

Hello Twinkie!!!

Your Fern Garden Stole is amazing. You knit like lightning! I just saw the winning entry in the new shawl. It is a beautiful seafoam green color. Are you still enjoying it in the new yarn?

Have a good weekend! I'm so relieved to see rain in your photos.

The cardigan looks great. I need to knit one for myself too because it's so cold at work from the aircon. I love that yarn too I've knitted a few things from it and it wears very well. Did you see Jo Sharp's Knit2 is out, I am off to buy it tomorrow. Twinkie looks every cute and cuddly as usual.

The cardi looks lovely. I'm sure it will be fine once winter hits and you start wearing it over things. You'll probably be really pleased you made those sleeves a little larger. :o) Twinkie is adorable as always.
