Where did this week go?
The car has been assessed, the insurance guy thinks it's worse than it looks, but at least it's covered by insurance. Well, apart fromt he $500 excess we need to pay. That's a nice chunk of yarn, isn't it?
Anyway, done is done.
And speaking of done, I forgot to take a picture of the Fiesta Tea Set done. I handed it over to Ailsa at SnB for the exhibition, but she took a picture for me.
Afternoon tea, anyone?
I can only claim responsibility for the Tea Set. The cupcakes, cherry pie, Tea cosy and gorgeous lace shawl are all Ailsa's doing.
Knitting for the exhibition is continuing, although I don't seem to have done much this week.
These bath sets are from a Fiber Trends pattern, "Bathing Beauties". I'm knitting them in Brown Sheep's "Cotton Fine" which I got from Yarns Online. The finished set is "Ribbon Lace", and is knit in "Driftwood", the set I'm working on now is the "Leaf Lace set", in "Peridot" and I have some "Victorian Pink" for the "Old Shale" set.
I'm a bit over all the smal project knitting now. (Who guessed that that would happen?) I'm itching to start a shawl. Although this is lace, it's not lace. And I'm hankering for lace again.
We did the grocery shopping last night, and David tossed a green leaf at Twinkie. It landed, rather unfortunately, in his slipper.
It didn't deter her! And Emily wanted to make you all wince.
It works for me.
Comments
Start the Dragone shawl...the dragone shawl...dragone shawl.
Yes, I'm trying the power of suggestion. LOL Is it working? Even just a little?
Wince? I actually felt pain when I saw Emily in the pic. Oh my! LOL
Posted by: Michelle at April 7, 2007 02:15 AMYup, I winced. Love the tea set!
Posted by: Sarah at April 7, 2007 02:59 AMahhhh, to be young and flexible! love how the teaset came out, and the lacy bathing beauties!
Posted by: debbie at April 7, 2007 03:53 AMGreat work as always, but I so understand the need to make something more "substantially larger" than the bath-cloth and tea sets. I really think that shot of Twinkie is hilarious. Reminds me of Caesar going to all ends just for a wee bit of food! And oy, I agree with the others. To be young, blithe, and nimble!!
=:8
I couldn't do that even if I had a bottle of muscle relaxers! Lovely tea set. Does it hold water? ;-)
Posted by: Chris at April 7, 2007 08:46 AMouch!
Posted by: jacqueline at April 7, 2007 09:49 AMBeautiful knits for the display! I know you must be itching to start a new shawl...which one is it? And what color? I will be on the edge of my desk chair waiting...
I think Twinkie and my Timmy have the same idea, to go after the treats no matter how hard you have to work for them. LOL
I think Em looks amazing -- it's a wonder how flexible our bodies can be with training! Is it an arabesque when a dancer bends her leg back up behind her, and her foot almost touches her head? I always wanted to do that. :)
Posted by: Debby at April 7, 2007 09:51 AMI hope the car gets fixed soon. What a bummer when that happens. My SIL just did her side door in on one of the posts that are in the car park at supermarkets, so she has a lot of yellow paint on her green car door and a big dint. Yours doesnt look too bad compared to hers. I love the tea set and it looks so cute with the cupcakes too. Emily is so flexible, wish I could do that and be so skinny too.
Posted by: Sue at April 7, 2007 10:53 AMOw! Oooowwwwwww!
Posted by: Janet at April 7, 2007 01:08 PMOuch!!! I can't decide wether to sit and cringe or get on the floor and try the impossible, just to try and figure out how on earth she does that.
Anyways keep an eye out for the postie :)
Posted by: Carol at April 7, 2007 04:19 PMWince wince wince. Em, that's just wrong.
I'm so sick of knitting little things for the exhibition I've stopped doing it. I'm only halfway through the old shale set, as in I've only done the soap thing and haven't even blocked it.
I vote for the dragone shawl too.
Posted by: Ailsa at April 7, 2007 07:12 PMThe tea set looks fantastic, and I couldn't even look at the picture of Emily
Posted by: Nic at April 7, 2007 09:26 PMI don't think I was ever young enough or flexible enough to do what Em did. Ouch.
I love the tea set. But I can see why after the set and the bath items, why you want something...bigger. Any idea what you will choose?
OK Emilie, I'm wincing.
That boot suits Twinky. lol
Where did you buy the pattern for the bathing beauties please?
I'm wincing so much that I can't remember what else I wanted to say. Is she that limber or double-jointed? ;-)
Posted by: Wanda at April 8, 2007 03:41 PMHoppy Easter Everyone!
