It's raining. That's actually really good news.
Twinkie doesn't think so.
Every now and then she looks out the door to check if it's stopped yet.
Yesterday was back to school, but I had canteen duty all day, so I didn't get the nice quiet day I've been longing for. So the rain today is perfect. I'm going to sit on my butt with the television and my shawl and knit until Em's bus gets in.
The shawl is progressing nicely.
13 border rows done, and the best bit of this part is that I'm decreasing. Here's a close up.
I'm actually really enjoying this, there's very little repetition, which is what usually bores me. So far so good, but I'm not quite sure what will happen when I have to do it three more times!
Comments
The shawl is already starting to look so beautiful.
It sounds like we may have a lead on a bunny rabbit that can come to live with us. Bitty is beside herself with excitement.
Bug is too busy preparing for the big ballet/jazz/tap recital to be thinking about bunnies.
Posted by: Amanda at April 24, 2007 01:09 PMHi - I got a package in the mail today and you know I had to open it up. Ok. I tore into it. I absolutely love everything. The socks fit perfect and I'm just crazy gushing over everything. I posted all the photos to my blog and a big thanks to you. Thanks for making this a great swap.
Posted by: Madame Purl at April 24, 2007 01:58 PMI can't believe how cute your little Twinkie is - hopefully you'll get some sun soon for her to enjoy!
I love how your shawl is coming along, it's going to look so gorgeous and delicate - looking forward to seeing more of it!
Poor Twinkie!
Does she get lonely or jealous when you spend time knitting?
Posted by: jessie at April 24, 2007 08:53 PMPretty! We just got our truck washed, so it's sure to rain here too.
Posted by: wool winder at April 24, 2007 10:32 PMWow a bit of rain,Iknow how bad its been there and being an arid area here, we dont see it as much as you, only when you start to see the bush trees dying that it becomes apparent!
Poor twinkie,at least she had a cool day!
That lace is looking wonderful as usual, cant wait to the finished article!
looks gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! takes so much time though!!!!!!!!! Wish I could sit and watch tv and knit all day!!! I have a little one who would rather play with everything I'm doing than her own toys
Corrie:)
Posted by: corrie at April 25, 2007 12:02 AMThe rain can stay for all I care good knitting excuse. Keep plugging away at the shawl thing show and see what may happen.
Posted by: metal and knit at April 25, 2007 12:52 AMPoor Lil Twinkie. Rainy day raddit blues. *sigh*
Nice shawl ;-D
Posted by: Dana at April 25, 2007 01:01 AMQuick question, are you going to knit the four sides and then knit the center square in the round? I could dig out my Gathering Of Lace but I have no idea where it is and I don't want to be tempted by any more lace knitting. I already have plans for about 4 shawls.
Twinkie looks like she is doing a stop raining watch, waiting for the sun to shine on her.
Posted by: Suzanne at April 25, 2007 10:17 AMPoor Twinkie. But I'm sure she won't mind giving up a little sunshine for the greater good. ;)
Posted by: Kessa at April 25, 2007 11:01 PMYour shawls are beautiful, as is the tea cosy posted about earlier! Your Show experience sounds terrible - nasty silly biddy - but you could laugh too - funny in a 'Black Books' kind of way I guess. Thanks also for the comments on my blog!
