Stitch n Bitch meeting tomorrow, and apparently the local paper are coming along to do a piece about our group.
What am I going to wear?!?
Knitting updates!
The Shetland shawl is inching along.
The first repeat of the centre pattern is done. Here's a close up.
Each row right now only has 183 stitches, so it moves along quite quickly, when I have tome to sit down and work on it.
In the top photo, you can see the slight colour difference between the balls. It's right along the row of eyelets. The close up doesn't show it as much.
I've been working on the baby cardi, too. See?
What do you mean it looks exactly the same? Can't you see the progress?
Can't you see that my gauge was off, I was all the way up to the armholes and I had to frog it and start again, and that I've gotten this far?
I was not a happy knitter. And I even did a gauge swatch, I swear.
Knitting time is being sucked away as we're heading back into costume sewing season. My shadow prefers sewing season to knitting season, because when I'm sewing I get down on the floor with her, and she can supervise my work.
And like any workplace, work is slowed down immensely due to management meddling!

Congratulations to Em, and to you for your star! You both should be very proud (this I type with a bag of oreos next to me, but it's been a stressful week, really!).
I love your random things list and I heartily agree on #1. Big baby am I when the temps dip down to 60F and below.
Your shawl is just beautiful! And your sewing supervisor is adorable, if cracking the whip...
Posted by: Debby at May 26, 2007 05:40 AMLove the WIPs! And your management is just as cute as can be!

And thats a lot of sts too but then I havent done a shawl yet(many planned though)....
Twinkie, as cute as ever!!!
Fluffa (aka SS) loves to rip up things on the floor and loves paper so much he pees himself, never the less, paper is not put down when hes inside!!!!
The shawl is so amazing... really beautiful work.
You'd better wear something knitted to SnB - let us know if the article appears on the paper's web site :D
And in the photo it looks like bunny has a halo - the big question is, does she deserve it?!
Posted by: Jejune at May 26, 2007 04:43 PMLovely shawl! The colour difference is not at all obvious where I am sitting.
Did you have your picture taken? Can you show us a copy??
Posted by: amanda j at May 27, 2007 10:51 AMThe shawl is a beauty!
Posted by: wool winder at May 27, 2007 11:37 PMThe shawl is GORGEOUS! You are a very talented lady.
Everyone should have so cute a manager. Mine is of the feline variety. Today I was doing a pattern test swatch (moss rib for *those* socks) when Tom (short for Tomodachi - Japanese for friend - DD's cat) decided to assist by lying on his back holding the small skein of yarn in his front paws and chewing on it. When I told him to stop, he ran off across the backyard, with the skein still in his mouth! Lucky for him it was only waste yarn!!
Posted by: Lynne at May 28, 2007 01:00 AMHeh. *Only* 183 stitches. You are too funny!
Posted by: Rose Red at May 29, 2007 11:43 AMI love that shawl, and as usual you are doing such a great job. Sure wish I had your talent.
