I'm a Rockin' Girl Blogger!

rockingirlblogger.jpg

I got nominated twice! Once by Sue, and again by Natalie.
I rock!
Someone please tell Em that.

Now I'm supposed to nominate five other Rockin' Girl Bloggers, but I'm finding it difficult. I have 307 feeds in my bloglines. How am I supposed to narrow it down to 5?!? I'm still thinking about it.

But I finished something while I was thinking about it!

The baby cardi is done, and I even whipped up a little hat to match.
I finished the cardi on Monday night, then yesterday Em and I headed to the button factory to begin the button saga. This colour was hard to match. I found some cute little buttons with kitties on them, and cute little flowers, but they were the wrong shade of pink, or too large for the cardi.
So I wimped out and went plain.

The shawl continues. Many times in the past weeks I've sworn I'll never make another Shetland Shawl after this one.
So I'm not quite sure how this got ordered and landed in my mailbox.

The Cameron Shawl from Heirloom Knitting. Here's a better look.

More evidence that I have no willpower.
I like the construction of this one a lot better than I like the one 'm working on now. This one has you work the centre square first, then pick up all the stitches around the square and work outwards. You can work each side separately, then seam them if you like, but I'm not a fan of seaming or grafting.
The pattern was a little pricey, about $AU35 shipped, but it's gorgeous.
And included were some yarn samples, and a postcard.

And on the back of the sample card is a handy chart key, and Sharon herself wrote me a note on the postcard.

Little extras are the key to my heart. And my bank balance. (Or lack thereof ;)

Startitis is biting. I want to start this shawl, and I don't even have the yarn for it. Yet.
I also printed out the first clue for Mystery Stole 3, and I'm itching to start that, too. But if I do, I know the Shetland Shawl won't get done.
Oh the angst!

My art director was on hand for all photo sessions.

She gets paid in craisins. And yoghurt drops. And cuddles.

Congratulations on your nominations!

Looks like you've been bitten by the lace bug.

I think the cardi buttons are just right! But oh man, you are a lace knitting nut!! (but isn't it just gorgeous!!).
Oh, and just in case of any doubt, You ROCK Donna!

Willpower is for losers. Buy lace patterns. They're pretty. Socks look fab!

Oh and congrats on being a rockin girl blogger. I'd have trouble narrowing it down, too.

Will power? How about looking at it this way: When you buy yarn and patterns you are putting much needed money into the economy which is a good thing. You wouldn't want to be the cause of an economic depression would you?

Em, your mom rocks. You don't think so now because you aren't old enough to appreciate her but once you get in your 20's you'll see it.

The sweater set turned out so cute. You know you will have to knit the new shawl...it's gorgeous! Great shot of the Zig-Zag Socks.

We all knew you rocked. 307 feeds!! Yikes, I only have 47. How do you ever find time to knit?

I think the plain buttons are perfect.

Very cute sweater.

I have never been to the Heirloom Knitting website, boy am I in trouble now.

Congrats on the nominations.

congratulations on the nomination - and you do indeed rock! love the shot of your zigzag socks - lots of lace knitting going on for you - maybe someday i'll be brave enough to try....

The sweater and hat are soooo cute!!! And you do rock!

Congratulations on being nominated Donna! I love the baby cardigan and hat, and I think those buttons are perfect for it. I like the shawl pattern too, and it would seem you need another pair of hands so you can start some new projects.

I'm so glad you have no willpower - for the record I don't either. I love your shawl knitting.

A place called The Button Factory sounds wonderful and intimidating! I hate the button collection at my local craft store. I understand about the startitis. I'm working on the feather and fan shawl (from your inspiration) and I got lazy following a chart so I started the EZ Baby Surprise Jacket. Of course, I really should be good and finish the 3 other projects I have going. Those 3 are all missing sleeves....hmmm...I see a theme here.

Your cardi is beautiful. You do, indeed rock!

The baby cardi and hat are very pretty. Perhaps the teddies helped on your lace shawl choice. I have that pattern too and did start it but then I did the "bad thing" put it aside and started something new and haven't touched it since. Must get back to it when I'm done with Mystery Stole 3.
