Roxie
So I'm coming to that time of year when the knitting is supposed to take a backseat so that I can spend inordinate amounts of time hunched over the sewing machine, churning out sparkly dance costumes for little girls.
I shouldn't complain too much, it does a nice job of supporting my yarn habit. Before I start the costumes though, I had to do something about poor naked Roxie.
May I present Em's new sidekick?
I can't wait to see what the teacher comes up with next.
Actually, yes I can.

Oh, can I have one of those dresses but in red??
Posted by: Rose Red at August 7, 2007 09:02 PMThat colour is soo nice. Lovely job.
Posted by: leeanne at August 7, 2007 09:20 PMThat model is rather freaky, however just the sheer fact that you made it give you some Kudos
She lives!! LOL :)
I have a friend who has been a Ballet Mum forever (her daughter now runs a ballet school in Canberra), and she has always sewn costumes for ballet school concerts - she used to do the all-nighters, and sleep for 20 minute cat naps in the middle of her sewing room chaos. Quite nuts (in a nice way!).
Posted by: Jejune at August 7, 2007 10:17 PMAw, that is pretty! Is that a really big doll or a little couch?
Posted by: Karen at August 8, 2007 01:29 AMI love the gorgeous blue color of the dress. Roxie is so fancy!
Posted by: Evelyn at August 8, 2007 05:08 AMGlad to see Roxie has clothes. She would still freak me out if I walked in a room and she was sitting there. The clothes help a little, though. Good job. I am sure she will look great wrapped up in the shawl.
Posted by: Suzanne at August 8, 2007 11:03 AMShe looks ready to dance the night away.
Posted by: Wool Winder at August 9, 2007 12:34 AMNew model for the kniting is she.
She looks fantastic. Some of myu friends thought she was a Rock n Roll dancer and alive.
Posted by: metal and knit at August 9, 2007 12:54 AMCool doll. She dresses better than me. But I kinda would like to know what Em is suppose to do with it? Practice ballroom dancing? Is there a recital routine in which all the girls dance with a life-size doll? Just curious.....
