Don't tempt fate!

I got a parcel in the mail from a very good friend today.

Calmer, in "Chiffon" for Fifi.

I was excited! I fired off a thank you email immediately and in it I said "I'm on the neckband of the Angora Supreme jumper, so hopefully I'll finish that tonight, and can start Fifi!! (I just jinxed myself, I'll bet) "

Here's the Angora Supreme yesterday.

Lookin' good! I nearly wrenched my arm out of the socket patting myself on the back. So I finished the raglan shaping last night, and today I started the neckband.

Then, this afternoon I decided to try it on again and see if the ribbing was deep enough, and if I could cast off yet.

F#$*&^!!!!!

The raglan seams are too damn long. It's all because I said I was going to finish it tonight and start Fifi. I knew I should have shut my mouth. I brought down the wrath of the Knitting Gods.

Here's how it looks right now.

Stupid sweater.

It may be a stupid sweater, but that first shot of you? Wow! You look fantastic!

Bah Humbug. Commiserations!! Fifi looks beautiful too, all Springy and the mauve colour will look so nice.

Well, at least you know you will have enough yarn. It could be worse. It will be finished soon.

You're in raglan hell and I am in sleeve hell. 2 sleeves knit a total of 5 times. I could have been done with the kid sweater by now!! Better luck, karma, fate this time.

mmm I always have to opposite problem raglans that are tooo tight on me. NOw I know why i stick to mens patterns. Atleast you could fix it up.

I hate that! As soon as you state something about finishing, then, of course, the opposite occurs. Stupid sweater, but at least you can fix it.

The Knitting Gods sure have a warped sense of humor. It's going to be beautiful though. What a great color.

I am sure the sweater will turn out beautifully, and the color really suits you too. I love the color of the Calmer as well, and I am sure you are dying to start knitting with it.

It's an Angora Supreme thing, I'm sure.
I still have a sleeve to go, and the one I thought I finished.......... well, it's not finished after all. A Smidgen too short.

I can't wait to see your sweater all done and I am wishing I had stashed more of this yarn than the few odd balls I grabbed.

Oh Gods I'm glad someone else does stuff like this. :o) It does look beautiful on you though. It's going to be worth the effort because it will be fantastic. :o)

I am really behind because this is the first time I've seen Fifi. It's a pretty sweater and is going to look great in the Calmer. The blue angora sweater looks good on you too. And omg, look how thin you are!

A bugger it :( Hope you've recovered quickly - knowing how fast you knit, you must just about be done by now!

That is just the prettiest color for you! The Chiffon is nice too!

lovely knitting and lovely blog. i just finished reading all of it.

your work is beautiful and your family is cute.

i have the most boring job in the world and so i read knitting blogs all day at work. ho hum. but that way i can knit after work on MY time.

when i was a kid we had friends whose grandparents lived in Australia. it took me many years and many headaches to understand how their christmas gifts came wrapped in paper that did not have snow and such on it. did you celebrate christmas in july? did they have to look at all the gifties for six months and not open them until december? very confusing as a kid.

i want to come to australia someday. maybe see you then!
