My Blog

September 12, 2007

Way back in the day...

Way back in the days, over 3 years ago when I started this blog, I used to blog every day, or close to it.

What the hell did I talk about?!? Did I log on and say "I did 10 rows of my scarf today"?

Some days it's hard to find something to blog about. Especially when you're knitting stocking stitch socks in self striping yarn.
But they're growing.

Not exactly exciting breakthroughs, but they're 6ply yarn, so at least they're relatively quick. The only other thing I have on the needles is the Cocoon Lace scarf. Mind you, that's growing, too.

The colour in that pic is pretty accurate on my monitor.

This is a pretty easy pattern to follow. It's a 12 row repeat, which is fairly easy to memorise. I did get a little bored with the same old, same old though, so I pulled out the provisional cast on and did the edging, just for kicks.

(This pic is too pink.)
All this repetitive knitting is starting to get the better of me, and I can feel a bout of startitis creeping up!

Tapestry Craft in Sydney is having Nicky Epstein book signing on Friday afternoon, but it doesn't start until 3.30pm, which of course is the worst time of day for me, and I can't attend.
But Ozknitter took pity on me! She saw Nicky at the Melbourne Stitches and Craft show last week, and kindly offered to pick up a copy of the book and have Nicky sign it for me.

I haven't had a really good look at it yet, but a quick flick through looks gorgeous. Thank you, Ozknitter!

And finally, I was walking past Em's bedroom the other day and spotted Roxie. I had to go fetch the camera.

She looks like she's recovering from a hard night out!

I've had days like that ;) Luckily there is no photographic evidence!

Great photo. I hope to see a little video clip someday of Em and Roxie doing their dance.
PS. Don't you think Roxie needs some knitted leggings? - you know, just for practice sessions?

Poor Roxie! Can't a girl get some privacy there?

I love reading your blog, and am perfectly satisfied if you just show a picture of three more rows of stockinette. Any pictures and stories at all make me happy. Feel free to post blogs in which you just name how many rows you did :)

Love... love the color and Cocoon Scarf :) Is there a pattern or can you tell me where to find it? I sure would like to work that pattern, any help would be so appreciated.
Happy Knitting,
Mariann

Roxie does look as though she has been out all night. The knitting looks great, and I am sure a new project will be started soon. I like the look of the book too, you lucky girl.

I feel the same about blogging - sometimes I just don't have anything new to write about - that's why I don't blog everyday - just as & when I have something to write about. Love the color of the socks!

Love the cocoon lace.

Did you finish the offwhite shawl and I forgot? I thought that was in the rotation, too. It's been a crappy day so I might have forgotten.

When in doubt, just post bunny pics. :-) (OTOH I love the scarf. If you end up not liking it or anything....)

Check out Blogging without Obligation - it's a good idea!

VERY cool about the signed book, you lucky girl!

Love Roxie's pose there. Definite stunner my friends were in stitches at work when I pulled up the blog. I hope she now has an enforced curfew or she will teach Em bad habits.

Well i must say it often is hard with the mundaine knits to keep posting on them.

Haha...love the Roxie picture.

I used to blog almost every day too. And comment on a zillion blogs a day too. I have no idea how I managed that because I can't come close to that now.

Your Twisted Flower socks in the previous post are really gorgeous!

I totally get the blogging thing, I'm really struggling at the moment, can you tell???

Roxie looks like she's been having FUN! But didn't anyone tell her that ladies should always cross their legs!

Yes, the initial excitiment of blogging made me want to document EVERY row!!! Now, not so much!! Roxie looks like she is directly from a Western, maybe F Troop!!! I love looking at the Green Stripe socks, so please continue to indulge me!!!
