Saturday stuff

Saturday sky from the front door.

And as you've all come to expect from a Saturday, I have finished projects.
Two, to make up for the lack last week.

Green Stripey socks. Matched up nicely!
David is very happy with them, even if they aren't the Cthulhu he is yearning for. I like this yarn (Online 6ply) for his socks. It knits up more quickly than 4ply sock yarn, and hopefully being thicker, they will last longer.

I've knit him a few pairs of socks over the years, and surprisingly (or perhaps not) the ones that have lasted the longest are the first ones I knit him, in Elann's relatively cheap Sock It To Me. The more expensive sock yarns just haven't stood the test of time.

And the Cocoon Lace Scarf is done, too.

And some detail shots.

The centre pattern.

The end. Unfortunately, I bound off one end a bit too tightly, so it may have to be ripped and reknit, because the points didn't work very well.

The pic of me wearing it is closest, colourwise.

Specs:
Pattern: Cocoon Lace Scarf by Evelyn Clark, from FiberTrends.
Yarn: Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Liquer, one and a half balls.

It's a nice pattern, although it got a bit tedious for me towards the end. I'm really happy with the finished scarf though!

On the other hand, I'm in Luuurve with the Hanging Garden Stole!

More on that next time.

Does anyone else use the expression "As happy as a pig in shit?" Around here, we've decided that it should be "As happy as a bunny in hay"

And Twinkie is of the opinion that I just don't get it out quick enough.

The Cocoon Lace scarf is gorgeous! You've always amazed me with your lace knitting.

The Hanging Garden Stole is looking lovely - especially the little beads.

Twinkie is as cute as ever!

The Cocoon lace scarf looks fabulous but I especially like the Hanging Vine stole. Lovely colour!

Twinkie is too cute! How long is that hay supposed to last?

Socks and scarf are wonderful! And Twinkie is entertaining as usual.

Lovely knitting, just as I had predicted. We also use the expression "As happy as the boy who shot his father". When I think about it, that is quite disturbing!!

You are whipping through that stole!! The scarf is so pretty. Is it itchy at all?

I was going to say, I think you need to shave your legs! lol Your scarf is beautiful and the shawl is stunning. Where is it from? Although they all pale in comparison to Twinkie. Wonder if she knows she looks so much slimmer standing on her hind legs? I know I've said it many times before, but she is just adorable!

Great job on matching the socks!

The scarf looks great as does the stole - no wonder you are in love with it.

You are looking GOOD girl! (I meant to say that a while back)

There was no lack of FOs last week. There was one, that counts in my book. And now you've got two! Both are beautiful.

I much prefer the saying of a bunny in hay. Love David's socks. I havent tried the 6 ply as yet, but I should try and get some to try out. I love your scarf/wrap, it looks beautiful. The new shawl looks so pretty with the pink beads on it.

#1 Love the socks!
#2 The cocoon scarf is luscious, but I see what you mean about the points not pointing properly on one side...
#3 Hanging Garden is the most romantic name!! And it is living up to its promised beauty!
