Warm hands

Between finishing up all these costumes for Sunday's photos, and working on the super secret project, I still don't have much to blog about.

I do, however, have another FO to show you all.

David will have nice warm hands in New York.

Specs:
Yarn - Cascade 220, Turtle Heather (2452) from Yarns Online
Needles - 3.5mm dpns
Pattern - Basic Glove Pattern from Ann Budd's Knitters Handy Book of Patterns

This is a pattern I've used a few times, it never lets me down!

The actual gloves close up

The secret project continues, and all I can show you is this.

All will be revealed in good time!
My friend Tammy tagged me for a meme. I won't bore the anti-meme people, so if you want to read it, it's after the jump.

1. Name one person who made you laugh last night.

David, no doubt. Or Twinkie.

2. What were you doing at 0800?

Sleeping! I try not to open my eyes before 9am if it's at all possible. I'm definitely a night owl.

3. What were you doing 30 minutes ago?

Trawling Ravelry.

4. What happened to you in 2006?

David changed jobs twice, we bought a new car. Nothing overly exciting or unusual, I don't think.

5. What was the last thing you said out loud?

"Did anything interesting happen last year?"

6. How many beverages did you have today?

Oh cripes, I dunno. Two cups of tea, 2 glasses of diet lemonade. Probably 4 cups of coffee.

7. What color is your hairbrush?

Black.

8. What was the last thing you paid for?

My waxing this morning (TMI?)

9. Where were you last night?

At the dance studio, then the supermarket, then here at home, then back to the dance studio, then here at home. Party on!!

10. What color is your front door?

Brown woodgrain.

11. Where do you keep your change?

In my purse, or in the money box. Someday it'll be full and worth cashing in.

12. Whats the weather like today?

Gorgeous! Sunny and warm.

13. What's the best ice-cream flavor?

Nuts about Chocolate. But i'm looking forward to getting to a Ben & Jerry's in the US and getting my hands on some Steven Colbert's Americone Dream. And Ailsa tells me that there's now a Cold Rock Icecreamery in Wollongong. I'll have to try that, and let you know!

14. What excites you?

Erm, lets keep that private, huh? Clean version would be parcels in the mail. Yarn.

15. Do you want to cut your hair?

No! I want to grow it. But somehow it doesn't happen. But if I get it cut too much I cry, so my hairdresser won't cut it too short anymore, even if I ask.

16. Are you over the age of 25?

Yes. Is that a crime?

17. Do you talk a lot?

Yes. Every school report I ever got said that I'm easily distracted and I talk too much.

18. Do you watch the O.C?

No.

19. Do you know anyone named Steven?

I had a boyfriend named Stephen, does that count?

20. Do you make up your own words?

Yes, but not as many as Emily.

21. Are you a jealous person.

Over some things, I guess.

22. Name a friend whose name starts with the letter 'A'.

Ailsa.

23. Name a friend whose name starts with the letter 'K'.

Kylie.

24. Who's the first person on your received call list?

Ugh, spammer, last night. A recorded message telling me I'd won... I don't know what, I hung up.

25. What does the last text message you received say?

"Hi i missed the bus cos i was tlking to maths teacher.. can u pick me up? Im really sorry.." Guess who?

26. Do you chew on your straw?

No

27. Do you have curly hair?

Yes

28. Where's the next place you're going to?

Down the street to run errands in the morning, probably

29. Who's the rudest person in your life?

Hmmmm. No one springs to mind.

30. What was the last thing you ate?

Low fat biscuit.

31. Will you get married in the future?

We'll see

32. What's the best movie you've seen in the past 2 weeks?

I don't think I've watched a movie in the last two weeks.

33. Is there anyone you like right now?

What?

34. When was the last time you did the dishes?

Well, I was going to do the little pile this afternoon, but I had to soak the skewers instead.

35. Are you currently depressed?

Not lately, touch wood!

36. Did you cry today?

No.

37. Why did you answer and post this?

Why not?

The gloves are perfect! Now it's your turn. Do you get anything new for the trip?

I use the Ann Budd book for gloves too. The only change I've ever made to her pattern 'recipe' is that for a few gauges/sizes of gloves I think the little finger needs 1 or 2 more stitches in its round. Ann Budd must have a skinny little finger.
Nice gloves. Your DH was a good sport to model them for your blog.

25 made me laugh out loud. Was it Twinkie?

Nice modeling job David!

Knit gloves with fingers - still amazes me! David's got his poses down. Ever seen Zoolander? I nominate the following names for his poses - 1st pic: The Liza Minnelli, 2nd pic: Mime in a Box, 3rd pic: 007.

I love the gloves.

Secret project........ can you tell us who it is for???
Oh that's right, it's for Twinkie.... shhhhhhhhh.

Great gloves! I haven't had the courage to try making any but yours look so nice I may be inspired to give it a go.

I gather that David likes to have his photo taken and is used to posing for you. I love the gloves, and you always knit such lovely things.

Great gloves, great model!! I'm not sure I'd have the patience for gloves - all those fiddly fingers and (I assume) ends to weave in!

Posted by: Rose Red at November 15, 2007 07:21 AM

Great gloves! David knows how to work the 'ol camera eh? :)

Posted by: Karen at November 15, 2007 09:40 AM

Extremely cool gloves! :)

Not sure if you remember me.. But those gloves looks really good! I don't think I will ever knit gloves because the thought of knitting those fingers makes me cross-eyed. Lol. Love the funny poses! Oh, and I think Nuts about Chocolate is really nice too. =)
