11 days to go!

11 days from now, I'll be in an airplane, on my way to the United States. No, I can't shut up about it!

Yesterday, we started preparations in earnest.

One large and one small suitcase each. Seeing as I want to bring home that much yarn, I'm not sure what to do about clothes ;)
I bought something else too.

It has a built in camera. We've been having some fun with it.

Yes, very easily amused, thank you for asking!

As you can probably tell, I haven't had much time to sit still, let alone knit, but there has been a little.

I've been working on Em's scarf, and I really need to get cracking on this if she's wearing it on holiday.

It's about 60cm long so far. I sat and wove in a bunch of ends on Friday, and I'm going to try to do them as I go now, because all at once nearly bored me to tears.

When I get tired of zigging and zagging, I've been working on Buttercup. I've nearly finished the first front.

I'm enjoying this a lot. I do wish I'd done both fronts together, though. I'll definitely do both sleeves at once, or the second one may never get done!

I don't expect you'll have much time to knit from now until your trip. 11 days is not very long! Good idea to pack light, because you know you'll be bringing more back than you took with you.

You can always buy another small suitcase to bring home more yarn. David will never notice, I'm sure.

I really like that scarf. I may have to make one.

Have a fantastic holiday. Em's scarf looks great! Maybe you can arrange for the yarn stores to post it all back home, and you can have a bundle of packages waiting for you when you get home!

I know you will have a wonderful trip. Remember if you are down my way I would love to show you around!
Love the new laptop too.
All of your projects are just beautiful.

oooh new toys!

The scarf and Buttercup look wonderful, I know what you mean about weaving ends, I try to avoid striping when I can!

Have a wonderful holiday if we don't hear from you before then!

Take care.

I advise posting all the yarn you buy from the USA back to yourself in Oz, much easier that way - just don't go over $1,000 in value, as then you'll be liable to pay import duty LOL!

Good luck with all the preparations, and YAY for having a break from dance lessons :)

I'd be excited if I were you, too! =) I'm sure that scarf will be finished on time.. At the most, you can always work on it during the flight..

Hey I have the same computer! (lol) My suggestion is just like Jejunes. Every city or town here has it's own post office and what if you mailed them as you go? A bunch of surprises when you get home and no track of how much you've bought as you go.
