Out of Sorts
I've been feeling out of sorts the past couple of days, nothing serious, just a case of the blahs. Of course, that means that there's very little worth blogging.
What's contributed to it? Lots of little things, some of it knitting related. Staying up ridiculously late on Thursday night to try to score some Wollmeise from The Loopy Ewe probably didn't help! I loooove The Loopy Ewe. I spend far too much time checking out what's new over there anyway, but I knew that Sheri was listing her latest Wollmeise order at some point this week, and it had been narrowed down to late Thursday night (really early Friday morning) local time, so I sat up, intent on getting my hands on some.
Unfortunately, I blinked at precisely the wrong moment and I missed it. Five minutes, people! The whole lot was gone in five minutes! I'd click on a colour I liked, and it was gone. Click on another colour, gone. Gone, gone, gone.
I'm consoling myself with the fact that the last thing I need is more sock yarn, and at least it wasn't the Wollmeise Lace weight.
The Easter Show results haven't gone up yet. I've stalked the website since Thursday (judging was Tuesday and Wednesday), but Sally found a message on the site tonight that the results won't be posted until Wednesday. Fortunately, Ailsa and I are going to the Preview on Tuesday night, so I'll find out a little earlier, but the anticipation may be the end of me.
And the ennui has extended to my knitting, I'm afraid. I finished a Monkey sock, but I can't be bothered grafting the toe. (Hands up anyone who is actually surprised by that!).
So I sat down tonight to work on Hyrna Herborgar instead, and realised that I'd made a stuff up 4 rows back, and it took the best part of the night to rip back four rows of 300 stitches and re-knit them.
And that's the sum total of anything even vaguely worth reporting, or not.
I think this means the next post should be bursting with lots of wonderful things!

I'm sure your knitting blahs will pass soon. Good luck with the Easter Show!
I love the other Hyrna Herborgars I've seen (online) and can't wait to see how yours turns out.
Posted by: Octopus Knits at March 16, 2008 04:36 AMThose darn greedy Wollmeise lovers!! I didn't even try getting any because I knew I'd never get any (and I already have a skein in my stash so I didn't want to be selfish).
Posted by: monica at March 16, 2008 04:51 AMIt's the heat and humidity after the cooler days of summer!! [strange days indeed, most peculiar, momma!!]
Hope your blahs are over soon!
Posted by: Lynne at March 16, 2008 08:47 AMI too spent the last 4 hours tinking back a mistake I made on my socks. I knitting two magic loop, yikes. So I ripped out 4 rows at a time working backwards to finaly get back to the beginning. I knew if I pulled the two off I would have really has a harder time getting the stitches back in place. Hope your blahs leave soon. Certainly get them enough myself.

Posted by: KSee at March 16, 2008 11:30 AMI have been looking at the Wollmeise for ages too!
Checking it out - I really want the Poison nr 5
Pretty stuff but really hard to get. I've been checking Loopy Ewe, but didn't know they were listing it this week. No point was there, if it goes that quickly.
One day 'they' will have bought enough and leave some for us....maybe :)

I've pretty much given up on Wollmeise...just waiting until something else becomes the Next Big Thing, and then I will pounce. I hope...
Posted by: roseredshoes at March 16, 2008 02:02 PMOMG! I had a case of the blah's too recently. Like no real reason either - just blah. I hope you can shake them soon.
Posted by: Madame Purl at March 16, 2008 02:51 PMI had one of those days but fortunately they are a rare occurance. Hope the days ahead are better & more fruitful - happy knitting.
Posted by: Ann at March 16, 2008 02:54 PMMy fiance' is going to set the show up on mon, tue & wed, to ask him to have a snoop in the craft section would mean getting my head bitten off with something sounding like, 'I wont have time' or 'what do you think I'll be doing all day'
wish I could ease your curiosity but I have to wait too.
I've got my fingers crossed for you though.

I know that you know that I know that you know, but Rules Is Rules, so here's the Official Announcement: FYI - You Make My Day!!

Hope your feeling more YOU soon!! Good luck in the Easter show. I'm going on Sunday so hope to see your entry there!!
Posted by: Lien at March 17, 2008 09:43 PMIf it's any consolation, I don't get the whole wollmeise craze...is it simply supply and demand? Because it's unobtainable, everybody wants it?
I have a skein in my stash that was a gift and it's pretty but it's not the be all and end all of yarn...it stripes and I'm not a big stripe fan plus it's really stringy and not particularly soft (I've crocheted and swatched with it, a friend sent me some leftovers before I had my own)
I'll tell you a secret. I won't shop at TLE anymore but the last time I did, I was just looking around and I guess I hit it just before the sneak up email was sent...I was alone in the shop (it was really late) surrounded by a full just posted order of wollmeise and I didn't buy a single skein. I dunno, there is a lot of much prettier (imo) yarn out there that I don't have to stay up all night and beat other shoppers off with a stick for!
Feel better now? :)

Posted by: marti at March 18, 2008 03:57 PMaloha donna! i've been away from the net for a while due to a new church assignment that's been consuming much of my free time - but it's spring break, so i've been trying to play catch-up and exercise my kntting fingers too! i love how the 'so called scarf' turned out and also the baudelaire socks are gorgeous, but i'd have to say i'm in love with buttercup - just too gorgeous....

I've heard people rave about Loopy Ewe, but I didn't know it was so hard to get. That's crazy!
