Monday, Monday

Monday, Monday.

Feeling a bit better this week. Must be all those antibiotics I'm taking. Between the antibiotics and the painkillers, I'm rattling when I jump. On the plus side, not being able to eat anything means I've lost 2kg this week!

However, I've been knitting. At this rate, I may even finish Wicked this year.

So far, so good on the alternating balls. And that's it on the knitting front. So to keep things from being totally boring, lets talk about a very important topic.

What do you carry in your Knitting Bag? (Apart from your knitting, of course!)

I have a great little notions bag that I got from The Loopy Ewe, and all of my essentials are in there and come with me wherever I go.

In there you'll find stitch holders, Post it tape to mark charts, a tape measure, crochet hooks (for picking up stitches and provisional cast ons, not crochet!), a cable needle, scissors, my handy dandy needle holder, a pencil, small post it notes, stitch markers and my fab USB key. All of my patterns are backed up on there, and it comes with me everywhere I go. As long as I can get to a computer, I'll never have to worry about forgetting my pattern.

When not in use, you'll also find my row counter and DPNS stitchkeepers in there too.

What do you carry in your knitting bag? And is there anything I'm missing that I should be carrying in mine?

To close, just because it's been a while, here are my two favourite girls.

Yes, my daughter is a fashion victim.

hey that looks pretty victim-ish. It reminds me of those sunnies people were wearing in eth eighties taht were just like two of those bands joined together. I think they're supposed to look startreck-ish. Any way did you go see sex in eth city? :-) Stripes

I love the idea of the USB and also the post-it tape stuff - must get some of that for my notions pouch (oh, and a bigger notions pouch...)

The USB is a great idea! I like the post-it note tape too (the notes are never big enough (or stick up over the end of the paper). Pencil is a good idea too. My needle holder also has a few pins and safety pins floating around in it. In emergencies they can be used to tighten knit picks options.

Wicked's looking good. Can't see any stripes.

I also carry snacks, like a small bag a pretzels, a box of raisins, granola bar, hard candy (things that don't spoil quickly)...you never know when you'll need something to eat. :)

Let's see I have everything you have except the USB key great Idea though have to do that too (can't believe I hadn't thought of it the geek that I am)
One thing I carry in my bag of tricks is a small calculator helps me figure out how much I need and avoid making a mathematical error which I'm famous for.
I also have the little Nancy's Knit Knacks cards that have all the yardage estimators and yarn classifications and such. Great little cards I don't use as much as I should.
Oh and I also have a small trail size tube of hand lotion.
Hey Twinkie and Em who won the starring contest?

I have to admit to having about 6 or more of those bags (usually cosmetic bags that I found while out shopping) with almost the same stuff in them. Some have a bit less stuff. The main ones have the same stuff you have. At least one has a calculator, too. I have the Loopy one but haven't filled it up yet.

I like the USB idea and have been meaning to get one and now it is on my list for after my vacation.

Wicked looks great!

I have the same, but not the USB drive (but I love the idea). And in addition to the above, I have more stitch markers & safety pins. Also, you can find random thing like Burt's Bees chapstick in there too.

USB - inspired.

I carry a range of things, including a usb, dpns, a little needle gauge with a ruler down one side, fluff, cut off ends of yarn from weaving in and so many crumpled reciepts that I think theres probably a breeding program going on in there.

Wonderful photo.
Glad to hear Wicked is going well now.

Wicked is looking good. I have almost the same stuff (except USB) in 4 different little bags plus these - waste yarn, nail file, calculator.
