October 9 - Knitting!

Don't get overexcited, but I actually have some knitting to report.

I'm up to the toe of the first Marina Piccola sock!

I'm having a little internal debate now though. The actual pattern is written with a star toe. Even though I am usually pretty happy to avoid Kitchener, I'm not a huge fan of the star toe, so I'm trying to decide whether to just do it as written, or to do a more traditional toe style.

I think I'll be doing the traditional one.

So every time I tried to get a picture of Twinkie's yard groove today, this is what I got.

She was filling that groove rather busily for most of the day. Later, I gave her some hay to get her out of it.

And that's her groove. Nicely established, huh? Please ignore the state of the garden. For over two years, the owners have been promising us a nicely landscaped garden, with some paving and a pergola area. Look at me! Not holding my breath on that one!

Anyway, the table used to be over Twinkie's groove. Then, a few weeks back, it was raining, and Twinkie was in her groove, under the table, reaching out in the rain to try to get to some greenery. David took pity on her, and moved the table over the greenery so she could eat without getting wet.

It didn't work that way, Twinkie refused to give up her spot.

And I'd like to point out that it wasn't Emily or I that took pity on her and took the umbrella out for her. It was David, who claims to be the only one *not* spoiling the bunny!

Hmm, yes. I remember, as a child, my dad saying we couldn't have pets. Then a stray pregnant cat adopted us. Who went out in the rain to move the kittens to higher gound? And sat petting them but denied it vigorously?

*After* I been roundly criticised, raked across the coals for my cruel, heartless act of leporidaen eviction. Why, I feared what further consequences might follow should I fail to somehow ameliorate my criminal act.

David, how sweet you are!!! Lucky Twinkie I say, even though she is pernickety!! I suppose she's like that book or film: How Twinkie got her groove back!!!
Socks?? I like grafting but regardless a conventional toe seems to fit my toes well. Knit for the fit I say.

Twinkie, a rabbit In the Groove.

Long ago, Benjamin (Bunny, of course) did much the same thing next to our front porch on base. There was just this little rabbit-shaped patch, half in the shade, half in the sun for most of the day.

He thought he was a German Shepard, since he grew up with the one next door. (He also broke a black market ring back in the 70's - he was quite a rabbit.)

I'm not a fan of the star toe either. I don't find them particularly nice to look at.

That's an awesome groove Twinkie's got - a bit like the one I'm developing on the lounge ;) But I need to get up to get some food.

I did my first star toe recently and hated it. Am debating ripping it out or just living with it.

Look at Twinkie all safe under a brollie! Boys are big softies sometimes.

Chi Wai (my hubby) is totally the one who indulges our cat! He gets away with murder!

I don't even know what a star toe is?

Love the Twinkie pictures! My bunnies have their spots. Baxter's changes occasionally, usually once I'm used to where he lays and try to make it more comfortable for him. But Mrs. Cooper can always be found stretched out in front of the fridge!

I love that Twinkie has a groove. And that David spoils her - my husband is the same with our cat - loves her to death although would never admit it!

Hello there, I have been off the grid. Have gone backwards to read up and just love seeing the life of Twinkie. Dispite any grousing from David past or future, David will always take care of his girls.
Love the color of the sock.
