Avoidance
So what do you do when you're working on stockinette sleeves that just never end?
You cast on a pair of socks, that's what.
Plain socks using Wendy's Sportweight Toe-Up Gusset Heel Sock, Yarntini Sportweight in "Woolgirl". These are the only hand knitted Christmas gift I'm doing this year. And they'll qualify for November socks, too.
And no, the sleeves are not done. I'm avoiding them by continually finding something else (anything else!) to do. I really need to just sit down and do the stupid things.
Twinkie would like you all to know that she likes cheek rubs just as much as nose rubs.

Normally I don't like the browns but I really like them in that colorway. Now go work on those sleeves!
Posted by: Restless Knitter at November 7, 2008 12:42 AMYou know, you could always send those stockinette sleeves my way. I'd happily trade that for the neverending miles of k2, p2 ribbing on my sister's Tempting! And of course, she requested long sleeves as well. I had to start the eye-of-partridge shawl just to keep myself from slipping into a coma! Evie is going to be just lovely-the boredom will pay off! Can't wait to see her all finished!

Posted by: Mandy at November 7, 2008 01:01 AMThere is nothing I can say that will make the sleeves go any faster, but you are SO close to finishing them (I can't actually see them, but I've remembered how fast you can knit) :)
Posted by: Andrea at November 7, 2008 02:29 AMPerhaps the socks can be a reward - first some time with the sleeves, equal time with the socks.
Posted by: Lynne at November 7, 2008 07:58 AMWhat!! You haven't got Twinkie working on those sleeves yet??
If you really want something to distract you from those sleeves I have a deskfull of papers that need completing. I am happy to send them your way :P
I feel your pain. I am nearly at the end of my 3x1 ribbing and it can't come quick enough!!
Posted by: Sheridan at November 7, 2008 01:14 PMThat is a really nice color. OK, now get back on those sleeves put on some good movies and let it rip! no, no, did I say rip! Wrong word to use for a knitter.
Posted by: KSee at November 8, 2008 09:06 PMThat yarn is so beautiful! I'm going to have to so a search for it.
A Twinkie day is a Happy day!
Posted by: Michelle at November 8, 2008 10:03 PMYes, I agree with all the other commenters, that colourway is really pretty. I'm jealous of whoever is getting those for Chrissie.

That's a nice calm colourway. Very soothing indeed, a far cry from theat devilish stocking stitch!!! Cheek rubs, ear rubs, tunny rubs: rabbits and Labradors like them all I think.
