Joinage!
Folks, we have joinage.
Late last night I finally finished the sleeves and go the bits joined up. There's somewhere over 300 stitches per round now, so I'm not expecting fast progress.
And it's currently 37C here (99F), and we're expecting temperatures between 40 and 45C (104 and 113F) over the weekend, so I don't expect much progress at all!

Oooh, beautiful! That is going to be stunning!
I know what you mean about the lack of progress - at least there's the cool change next week to look forward to!
Posted by: Shelley at February 6, 2009 02:28 PMIt looks fantastic! Oh I remember the 300 plus stitches after join up. Lots of stitches!
Posted by: bells at February 6, 2009 02:36 PMWow. Its gorgeous. I love the colour-shifting effects. If this is not a piece of art I don't know what is!
Posted by: Kessa at February 6, 2009 02:38 PMThat is so pretty. It's a shame that it will be too warm to wear it right away.
Posted by: Restless Knitter at February 6, 2009 02:41 PMJust as well its so hot here Donna, so you won't be tempted to wear it before the Easter show!
I am picking this to WIN. I can't wait to see it there.
Posted by: Sheridan at February 6, 2009 03:06 PMLOVE IT - youa re such an inspitation Donna
Posted by: missfee at February 6, 2009 03:30 PMDonna it looks fantastic! Congratulations! (and you say you aren't a fair isle knitter! Beg to differ!!). Hope you can stay cool this weekend. Bells suggested putting your feet in a bucket of cold water. Sounds like a good idea to me!!

If we could combine your 45°C weather with the -25°C weather we had in Ontario yesterday it would be lovely lovely! :)
Posted by: Samantha at February 7, 2009 12:10 AMGorgeous!
I don't know how you do it in those temps you've been experiencing. Stay cool!
It looks lovely! i don't blame you for not knitting too much on it though in the heat! UGH!
Posted by: allena at February 7, 2009 01:48 AMIt does look beautiful, no wonder it is your favourite knit. I dont blame you for not knitting too much in the heat, and today is going to be 43 here. Oh how horrible.
Posted by: sue at February 7, 2009 08:41 AMI can't wait to see the finished result, it looks wonderful but so complex and long winded. One of those magical pieces you just know will last forever and look amazing always.

Take care of yourself in the heat.
Posted by: amandaj at February 8, 2009 04:56 PMLooks wonderful, though don't know how you manage to knit in the heat - here in the UK we have the opposite problem - worse snow for years - still good knitting weather !!
Posted by: judy at February 9, 2009 01:35 AMWow - its looking great! Sorry that it is so hot there - I hope it cools down a bit so you can finish it.
Posted by: Jeanne at February 9, 2009 05:25 AMooh, lovely! I should really do a dainty fair isle project one day - yours looks fabulous!
Posted by: lynne s of oz at February 9, 2009 04:11 PMI love it! I love the color and the the way it's coming together. It's going to be perfect on you.
It looks great Donna. It isn't quite that hot here at the moment - only 33, but it is still too hot to knit. My socks are getting lonely sitting on the needles.
