Hidden Twinkie
No one spotted the special hidden Twinkie in the last post!
Just a little bit of fun - I'd wondered if anyone would notice her!
Even more fun? A finished Autumn Rose. Yes, finished.
Well, the knitting is finished. There's about ten thousand ends to weave in, and it needs blocking, but it's almost finished. I was getting a little worried about one of the yarns towards the end, but I just scraped it in.
I made the smallest size. The Knitpicks kit only supplies one ball of "Iris Heather" for the *two* smallest sizes. If you want to raise the neckline, or make the sleeves longer, I'd recommend that you get an extra ball of Iris Heather. If you're making the second smallest size, even with no modifications, I'd get a second ball of Iris Heather, just to be on the safe side.
Ends and blocking will hopefully be finished by the weekend, but we'll see. It's been grey and gloomy here, if it stays wet, it might take a few days longer.
For anyone who is seeking news of Rachael and her family, I'm afraid that the news isn't good. It was confirmed on the weekend that Rachael's husband is among the 201 confirmed dead as a result of the bush fires. The family dog, Kelli was found with him. Please continue to keep Rachael and her family in your thoughts, I know she appreciates it.
And don't forget about Jacqueline's fund raiser! Every $AU10 gets you an entry to win some fabulous, gorgeous, yarny prizes! And every single cent donated goes straight to the Red Cross, to help the bush fire victims and their families.

I knew it was going to be lovely. (And all ready for winter... assuming it ever gets cold again in your hemisphere. We've got snow up here today...!)

Posted by: SallyO at February 19, 2009 08:31 AMI did read on the blanketsoffriendship blog that her husband had been found. It is so sad and makes you realise just how short life really is and that sometimes we have no control over what happens in our life. I hope that she has lots of family and loving friends around her and Parker at the moment to help with the grieving.
Your Autumn Rose looks wonderful, and no I didnt even see Twinkie hiding there. Perhaps you can make it a monthly sneak pic to find Twinkie in the photo.
Heh heh, hidden Twinkie - nice!!
Wow Donna, it looks amazing - what a great job, and knit so quickly - just amazing!

Goodness, I hoped and prayed he wouldn't have been among the deceased. My prayers will remain with her and her son. Such a tragedy.
Your jumper looks amazing, it is always the last leg of the journey that daunts me. I hate the weaving, stitching and blocking though know it all has to be done. You've made a superb job on it and I for one never noticed Twinkie, your jumper was that spectacular. ;)
Posted by: Linda Jordan at February 24, 2009 06:31 PMOh I am glad I read this successful steek post before I had to endure your Cutting post!! Hi to sneaky Twinkie. Autumn Rose looks spectacular!!
Posted by: 2paw at February 25, 2009 12:53 PMOh my gosh! That is a MASTERPIECE of knitting art! I have long admired this pattern so thank you for reminding me that I love it and must some day knit it too :)
BTW, growing up my cousin had a cat named Twinkie. Such a cute name.
